Elyse Buxbaum Announced As New Executive Vice President For Strategy And Development At Museum Of Jewish Heritage

The Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust today announced the appointment of Elyse Buxbaum as Executive Vice President for Strategy and Development, effective December 4, 2019. In this newly created position, Buxbaum will play a pivotal role in enhancing the status of the institution as New York's Holocaust museum, the third largest in the world. She will be responsible for strategizing, designing, and executing an ambitious development program to significantly increase and diversify fundraising revenue to position the Museum to embark on new initiatives in the coming year and beyond.

The Rose Art Museum Announces 2019-2020 Ruth Ann And Nathan Perlmutter Artist-in-Residence Caroline Woolard

The Rose Art Museum has selected Caroline Woolard (American, b. 1984) as this year's 2019-2020 Ruth Ann and Nathan Perlmutter Artist-in-Residence. The Perlmutter Award recognizes extraordinary young talent and is part of the Rose's longstanding tradition of promoting the work of emerging artists. The year-long residency at the museum is also an opportunity to provide Brandeis University students and faculty with direct access to powerful contemporary art and ideas. In addition, Woolard is the Rose Art Museum's inaugural INDEX artist. In her work at the Rose, Woolard takes the meeting as a site for artistic and social intervention by combining the formal language of her sculptural practice with tools and techniques used for group facilitation.

S&Co Announces Interim Director For Center For Actor Training

Shakespeare & Company recently appointed Susan Dibble as Interim Director for the Company's Center for Actor Training. Dibble, a Founding Member of Shakespeare & Company, is an educator and artist. Her movement work was seen on stage this past season in Twelfth Night and for the past four decades she has been faculty member for the training program, teaching at the Month Long Intensive, Summer Shakespeare Intensive (formerly the Summer Training Institute), and various workshops.

HB Studio To Partner With American Soundboard To Present Readings Of U.S. Congressional Hearings

This coming season, AMERICAN SCOREBOARD, a series of actor-performed, verbatim readings of actual U.S. Congressional hearing transcripts, will once again join forces with HB STUDIO to perform four readings featuring HB students and alumni.  The series will kick-off on Monday, September 16 at 7pm at the HB Playwrights Theatre (124 Bank Street) with a performance of testimony given on March 6, 2019 before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee on Protecting Dreamers and TPS (Temporary Protected Status) recipients.   Admission to the reading is free and reservations can be made at hbstudio.eventbrite.com.

Gloucester Stage Company continues its 40th Anniversary Season of professional theater with Patrick Barlow's witty mystery play The 39 Steps from July 5 through July 28 at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. This award winning comic thriller adapted for the stage by Patrick Barlow, from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and from the 1935 movie by Alfred Hitchcock, premiered on Broadway in 2008. The 39 Steps has played in over forty countries world-wide, winning Olivier (United Kingdom); Helpmann (Austraila); Moliere (France) and Tony Awards. The play garnered the 2007 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy; the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design; the 2008 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience; the 2009 Helpmann Award for Best Regional Touring Production; and the 2009 Moliere Award for Best Comedy.

Gloucester Stage Company Presents BAREFOOT IN THE PARK

Gloucester Stage Company kicks off its 40th Anniversary Season of professional theater with Neil Simon's romantic comedy, Barefoot in the Park from June 7 through June 30 at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm. Neil Simon's longest-running hit, and the tenth longest-running non-musical play in Broadway history, Barefoot in the Park opens as newlyweds Corie & Paul move into a sixth floor walk up off Third Avenue in the east 40's of Manhattan and follows the young couple as they quickly discover there's more to marriage than meets the eye.
