The Boston Theater Company's fourth annual running of the Road of Rainbows Pride 5K will return on Saturday, June 8 with a 10:00 a.m. start as part of Pride Month.

Boston Theater Company has announced the first annual QUEER VOICES FESTIVAL, with performances from March 8-10, 2024 at the Plaza Theatre of the Boston Center for the Arts. 

The 2022/23 Lyric Stage season concludes with Rooted by Deborah Zoe Laufer and directed by Courtney O'Connor.

The GLOUCESTER STAGE COMPANY will present the Tony Award-nominated GRAND HORIZONS next in the lineup of its 2022 season. Robert Walsh returns to Gloucester Stage to direct this thought-provoking comedy of marital malaise by award-winning playwright Bess Wohl, running from July 29 to August 21.

Boston Theater Company and the Artist Athletic Association have announced the first ever 5K road race in Massachusetts, Road of Rainbows, on Saturday, October 31, 2021 at the Boston Common.

Kyler Taustin, Executive Artistic Director of Brown Box Theatre Project a?" Massachusetts' premiere travelling, free outdoor Shakespeare a?" announces the opening of Measure for Measure, Shakespeare's timeless tale of gender politics and political corruption. Brown Box will tour to 9 outdoor locations in Massachusetts from August 9-25 before packing up and continuing to perform for audiences down the east coast in Delaware-Maryland-Virginia (Aug. 29-Sept. 21). Measure for Measure is Directed by Kyler Taustin.

This award winning comic thriller adapted for the stage by Patrick Barlow, from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and from the 1935 movie by Alfred Hitchcock, premiered on Broadway in 2008. The 39 Steps has played in over forty countries world-wide, winning Olivier (United Kingdom); Helpmann (Austraila); Moliere (France) and Tony Awards. The play garnered the 2007 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy; the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design; the 2008 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience; the 2009 Helpmann Award for Best Regional Touring Production; and the 2009 Moliere Award for Best Comedy.

The first twin, Viola, falls in love with Orsino, who dotes on Olivia, who falls for Viola but is idolized by Malvolio. Enter Sebastian, who is the spitting image of his twin sister is it possible for this to all end well? Well, it IS a comedy!

Boston Theater Company, the organization that produced Finish Line: A Documentary Play About the 2013 Boston Marathon, is excited to announce preview performances of its devised piece MOVE YOUR FACE, March 8-16, 2019 at Boston Playwrights' Theatre. The limited run will precede the world premiere in 2020, and follows a workshop performance last June.

Breath & Imagination chronicles Roland Hayes's inspirational journey from a Georgia plantation to a singing career that included command performances for kings and queens. Despite his international acclaim, Roland never left behind his complex and loving relationship with his mother, his Angel Mo'. With spirituals and classical music, Breath & Imagination is a compelling musical about one man's determination to become an artist despite seemingly insurmountable odds.   

The Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA) celebrated more than two dozen outstanding actors, directors, designers, and ensembles at The 36th Annual Elliot Norton Awards ceremony at the Huntington Avenue Theatre last night. The coveted Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence was presented to Leigh Barrett, Robert J. Eagle received a Special Citation in honor of his 50 years at Reagle Music Theatre, and the Guest of Honor Award went to internet sensation Randy Rainbow.

Boston Theater Company, in association with the Boch Center, will present a one night only staged reading of Finish Line: A Documentary Play About the 2013 Boston Marathon at the Calderwood Pavilion on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 7:30PM to honor the five year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing. The reading is sponsored by the Boston Athletic Association. Tickets are on sale now.
