Boston Court Pasadena presents Alexander Miller: TOa??OBLIVION a?" Historic Landmarks Around Los Angeles on Friday, October 25 at 8pm.  This multi-media project, conceived and performed by Miller, uses electric guitar, sound effects and visuals to describe six seminal landmarks in the Los Angeles area that have been either indelibly altered or destroyed. The Carpenter Performing Arts Center, located on the campus of California State University, Long Beach, has announced the 2019-2020 Arts for Life season. Arts for Life is the Carpenter Center's education initiative, providing concerts, classes, lectures, readings, workshops and more to the CSULB campus, Long Beach schools, and to the wider community. The new Arts for Life season includes the return of the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music Concert Series, the Bob Cole Conservatory Showcase Concert, and the Symphonic Jazz Orchestra. Additional free offerings to the public include Ensemble Mik Nawooj, Versa-Style Dance Company, a new lecture series, and a continuation of the popular Shakespeare Aloud series.

Plus, music from Bizet's "Carmen," "Yiddish Dances" by Adam Gorb, and marches from the U.S., Canada, New Zealand and more.  And there's free ice cream for everyone after the concert! This season's McCallum Theatre Band Concert, led by McCallum President and CEO Mitch Gershenfeld (Conductor), will feature Chad Hilligus (Tenor), John Van Houten (Tuba), and Patricia Bosley (Guest Conductor).
