Mercury Theater has extended the run of Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill, directed by Christopher Chase Carter and Alexis J. Roston, written by Lanie Robertson, and starring Alexis J. Roston as Billie Holiday.

The Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra's (CJRO) will return to the Arvada Center and Lone Tree Arts Center for two special nights of jazz and soul to celebrate the release of their latest recording Compared to What with Larry Braggs. Led by Colorado favorites Robert Johnson and Marion Powers, musical numbers include 'Mercy Mercy Me;' 'More Today Than Yesterday;' 'Fascinating Rhythm,' and of course, the title track 'Compared to What.'

Lyrics and Lyricists presents What's Going On?: Songs of Change on March 25, 26 and 27. What's Going On was created and conceived by Warren Adams (Motown: The Musical) and Michael O. Mitchell (MJ: The Musical ) as a theatrical concert exploring the work of Black songwriters and artists whose music is an essential part of the American Songbook and has played an integral role in the country's culture.

After two stellar performances at the 2022 Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival, composer/vocalist Vanisha Gould returns to Pittsburgh to perform in the latest installment of the Uhuru Jazz Series at The August Wilson African American Cultural Center (AWAACC), 980 Liberty Avenue, on Friday, February 10, at 7:00 pm.

The Apollo has announced that Fatima Jones has been named the organization’s first Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, effective immediately. Ms. Jones has been a part of the institution’s marketing and communications team since 2018.
