With the tough beauty of her writing and the fierce authenticity of her characters, Pulitzer Prize finalist and Obie Award-winning playwright Dael Orlandersmith will bring two of her works to Los Angeles in July and August, the West Coast premiere of her solo performance piece 'Stoop Stories' and the world premiere of her new play 'Bones.' Both plays will be presented as part of DouglasPlus programming at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City.

Marion J. Caffey's 3 Mo' Divas will be live again at the Apollo Theater but this time, in the Up Close & Personal setting of the Apollo Theater's 3rd floor Sound Stage. This wonderfully intimate performance space (150 seats) will have you face to face with three of the most powerful and versatile voices on the planet. Singing music from their PBS TV Special and from their NAACP Image Award Nominated CD...and Mo'. This is the Divas 3rd time playing the Apollo, but their first time in this intimate setting. New York audiences will feel like the Divas are in their own living room.

This is the first partnership between Rising Action Theatre and The Manor Complex. 'We anticipate this will be a great success, and we plan to do more of these events in the future,' says David Goldyn, Rising Action's Producing Artistic Director. The Town Hall presents the Fourth Annual Summer Broadway Festival created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall.
