TimesTalks To Release 20 Year Anniversary Photobook Shot By Brigitte Lacombe

The New York Times is pleased to announce Forward: Twenty Years of TimesTalks, a new photobook of black-and-white portraits of over 60 influential artists, actors, filmmakers, politicians, authors, activists, and Times reporters that have participated in TimesTalks, The New York Times live conversation series, including Marina Abramovic, Tilda Swinton, Nan Goldin, Ai Weiwei, Marc Jacobs, and Rami Malek, along with executive editor Dean Baquet, technology reporter Jenna Wortham, investigative reporter Jodi Kantor, 'The Daily' host Michael Barbaro, and chief White House correspondent Maggie Haberman. LUMBERYARD and Bill T. Jones/New York Live Arts Address Gaps in New York City's Performing Arts Presenting Ecosystem

On Tuesday, November 19, LUMBERYARD Center for Film and Performing Arts partnered with Bill T. Jones/New York Live Arts to host an event at the Park Avenue Armory addressing a growing structural challenge facing the city's performing arts presenting field: the need for technical-rehearsal residencies for NYC-based artists to develop new work. The event included a panel conversation moderated by Joe Melillo, Executive Producer Emeritus of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and featuring five acclaimed New York City-based performing artists:

THE GREEN ROOM 42 will welcome back Tony Award winner Lillias White in a special new holiday concert a?oeA Lillias White Christmasa?? for three performances this season. The shows will take place on Friday, December 13 at 7:00 PM; Saturday, December 14 at 7:00 PM; and Sunday, December 15 at 9:30 PM.

Peak Performances Presents Lena Herzog's Immersive Oratorio And Adjacent Panels On Endangered Languages

Peak Performances presents Lena Herzog's Last Whispers, an immersive AV experience dedicated to vanishing languages, accompanied by panel discussions on select days, October 16-20 at the Alexander Kasser Theater at Montclair State University. Trained in linguistics and philosophy, Herzog, also as an acclaimed photographer, has taken an ongoing interest in indigenous languages, which are disappearing at an astonishing rate. By 2050, half of roughly 7,000 languages spoken around the world will fall silent. Herzog's a?oehaunting and singulara?? New York Live Arts, in partnership with Philadelphia Photo Arts Center, presents Rashaad Newsome's multifaceted BLACK MAGIC at New York Live Arts (Live Arts), Philadelphia Photo Arts Center (PPAC), and Icebox Project Space (Icebox), September 12 - November 30, 2019. The project includes an exhibition at PPAC, installation at New York Live Arts, and performances at Live Arts and Icebox. BLACK MAGIC is a holistic reflection on agency, Blackness, and the futurity of intersectional identities and oppression.

Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Co Archive Acquired By NYPL For The Performing Arts

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts announced today that it has acquired the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company Archive, a comprehensive collection spanning the entirety of the company's existence. Beginning today, the paper-based materials in the collection -- including photographs, correspondence, production notes, company records, and more -- are now available for research at the Library's Jerome Robbins Dance Division.
