The Stephen Joseph Theatre this year celebrates 60 years of association with one of the greats of world theatre, Alan Ayckbourn.

The Old Laundry Theatre has just announced the full cast, led by Bill Champion and Nadim Naaman, of the revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Alan Ayckbourn's light-hearted, fun musical BY JEEVES, opening on Friday 6 October - Saturday 4 November 2017 (Press Night: Monday 9 October 2017 at 7.30pm) and directed by Alan Ayckbourn.

Alan Ayckbourn's classic comedy Henceforward… returns to the Stephen Joseph Theatre this autumn in a brand new production directed by the author. All alone, high up in an isolated, derelict suburban tower block, avant garde composer Jerome struggles vainly to complete his life's masterwork about love.With the help of a deranged android childminder, he hatches a plan to retrieve his source of artistic inspiration, his beloved daughter Geain, from his hostile andestranged ex-wife.

Tim Firth's award-winning musical plays in the newly refurbished Lyceum Theatre

In 2013, This Is My Family, a new musical comedy from the pen of Tim Firth (Calendar Girls), took Sheffield by storm - smashing Box Office records, attracting critical plaudits and winning the prestigious UK Theatre Award for Best Musical. Now, this hilarious show takes to the Belgrade Theatre stage from Tues 28 Oct - Sat 1 Nov as part of a limited national tour.

Following a critically acclaimed, award-winning run last year in the Studio, Daniel Evans' production of Tim Firth's musical This Is My Family returns to Sheffield Theatres from Thursday 9 - Saturday 18 October, ahead of a national tour to Royal & Derngate Northampton, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Liverpool Playhouse and The New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich.

59E59 Theaters will welcome the Stephen Joseph Theatre back to Brits Off Broadway with the US premieres of ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES, TIME OF MY LIFE, and FARCICALS: A Double Bill of Frivolous Comedies, written and directed by Alan Ayckbourn. ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES begins performances on Thursday, May 29 (Opening Night is Wednesday, June 4 at 7:00 PM). TIME OF MY LIFE begins performances on Friday, June 6 (Opening Night is Wednesday, June 11 at 7:00 PM). FARCICALS: A Double Bill of Frivolous Comedies begins performances on Saturday, June 7 (Opening Night is Tuesday, June 10 at 7:00 PM). All shows run through Sunday, June 29. The performance schedule varies. Please see attached calendar for the individual show schedules. Single tickets for ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES and TIME OF MY LIFE are $70 ($49 for 59E59 Members). Tim Firth's new musical about the family opens in Sheffield

With his production of The Full Monty on national tour, and The Daughter-in-Law opening earlier this week, Artistic Director Daniel Evans announces the new season for Sheffield Theatres.

Artistic Director Daniel Evans today unveils Sheffield Theatres' spring season for 2013, which includes two world premieres - Bull, a new play by Mike Bartlett, and This Is My Family, a new musical comedy by Tim Firth; major revivals of D.H. Lawrence's masterpiece The Daughter-in-Law and Alan Bennett's The History Boys, and Sheffield People's Theatre present their second production, 20 Tiny Plays about Sheffield. Full casting for My Fair Lady, the Crucible Christmas musical is also announced today.

Surprises is a brand new play, presented alongside his award- winning classic comedy Absurd Person Singular. These two plays are co-productions with Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, and feature one company of actors. Surprises plays today, 8 August - 8 September and Absurd Person Singular runs 10 August - 8 September at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester.
