London is never short of temptations, whether splashy West End shows, epic dramas or bold fringe offerings. Shakespeare's Globe is delighted to announce Michelle Terry's first season as Artistic Director. 2018's Shakespeare productions include Hamlet, As You Like It, The Two Noble Kinsmen, The Winter's Tale, Othello and Love's Labour's Lost. A premiere of three new plays, a national and international tour of Shakespeare and other performances on and off site are announced together with a year-long programme of events exploring the history and future of theatre censorship, as well as a series of events looking at race, refuge and refugees in relation to Shakespeare.

One of the defining novels of the 20th Century, Gunter Grass's dazzling tour de force, The Tin Drum, is being brought to thrilling theatrical life by Kneehigh in a touring co-production with Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse and West Yorkshire Playhouse. It will open to press at Liverpool Everyman this week, then transfer to West Yorkshire Playhouse before travelling to Bristol, Cornwall and finishing in London's Shoreditch Town Hall. BAFTA winner Joe Wright's production of Brecht's masterwork Life of Galileo will be accompanied by an original score composed by Tom Rowlands, founding member of the English electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers. Joe and Tom first collaborated on the 2011 feature film, Hanna.

John Heffernan will soon lead the National Theatre's production of Christopher Marlowe's EDWARD II, which is set to run at the NT Olivier beginning August 28- with opening night set for September 4. Joining him will be Ben Addis, Alex Beckett, Paul Bentall, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Bettrys Jones, Vanessa Kirby, Nathaniel Martello-White, Matthew Pidgeon and Kyle Soller as Gaveston.

Today, 2 November, the National Theatre's award-winning production of War Horse will release over 300,000 new tickets for sale, taking bookings at the New London Theatre to 23 October 2010.

From 30 September 2009, a new cast of actors and puppeteers will join the National Theatre?s award-winning West End hit War Horse which is currently playing to packed houses at the New London Theatre. The National?s sell-out production of Nick Stafford?s adaptation of Michael Morpurgo?s book which transferred to the West End in March this year, has recently welcomed its 100,000th visitor to the New London Theatre. In June this year 150,000 new tickets were released for sale, taking bookings up to 12 February 2010.

Full casting is now confirmed for the West End Transfer of the National Theatre?s sell-out production of Michael Morpurgo?s War Horse, adapted by Nick Stafford. War Horse will run at the New London Theatre from 28 March booking until 26 September with press night on 3 April.
