Anything Goes is a classic Cole Porter masterpiece filled with flashy song and dance numbers, farcical antics, and an intricate plot. It's a tough show to mount, because it involves a large cast and must be carefully directed to bring out the humor and drama in the show. Performance Now Theatre Company has set sail with this epic musical, and riding this luxury liner with them is a theatrical treat.
Aboard the ocean liner bound from New York to London, Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy #13 Moon-face Martin aid Billy in his quest to win Hope. Peppering this hilariously bumpy ride, Anything Goes, has some of musical theatre's most memorable standards, including 'I Get a Kick out of You,' 'It's Delovely,' ' You're the Top' and, of course, 'Anything Goes.'
