On Thursday, May 25 at 7pm, students and supporters from 35 participating schools across the Mid-South will gather at the Orpheum Theatre for the 8th Annual High School Musical Theatre Awards, sponsored in part by Sedgwick, Memphis Audio, and Dean Film & Video.  Modeled after the Tony® Awards, the High School Musical Theatre Awards recognize achievements in all areas of high school musical theatre.

On Thursday, May 26, 2016 The Orpheum Theatre announced the winners of the 2016 High School Musical Theatre Awards show.

On Thursday, May 26th at 7:00 PM, students and supporters from 33 participating schools across the Mid-South will gather at The Orpheum Theatre for the 7th Annual High School Musical Theatre Awards, sponsored in part by Memphis Audio and Sedgwick.  Modeled after the Tony Awards, the High School Musical Theatre Awards recognize achievements in all areas of high school musical theatre.

Based on the iconic animated film, with an Academy Award-winning score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. Well-known local thespian, Benjamin Cheng, will be playing in Aladdin and Emma Grace Kelly as Jasmine. Disney's Aladdin JR. will send you soaring on a flying carpet ride filled with music and adventure. It's also filled with all your favorite songs including, 'Friend Like Me' and 'A Whole New World.'

Set in a northern English town amidst the turbulent 1984 miners' strike, Billy Elliot the Musical is the inspiring tale of one boy's journey as he exchanges his boxing gloves for ballet shoes. Featuring music by Elton John, The New York Times declares that Billy Elliot the Musical 'isn't a dance show; it's about why people need dance.'

Peter Pan with Lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden and Adolph Green and Music by Mark Charlap and Jule Styne -- a musical based on the play by James M. Barrie -- will run tongiht, November 22, 2013 - January 5, 2014 at Playhouse on the Square. Special holiday schedule applies. Evening performances begin at 7:00 PM. Matinees begin at 2:00 PM.
