Today we are revisiting the very best theatre-related items released in 2014 in honor of the holiday shopping season being upon us.

On December 30th, a cast of Broadway favorites will gather at 54 Below for 'A Very Broadway Holiday,' singing holiday songs from Broadway shows and movie musicals.

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, concludes the Fall 2014 Musicals in Mufti Series with the first New York revival and world premiere of a new re-imagined version of the 1992 musical, My Favorite Year, with book byJoseph Dougherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and music by Stephen Flaherty, based on the motion picture by Dennis Palumbo and Norman Steinberg. On Monday, November 24 at 8pm, Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) hosted a developmental reading of MILES & ME, a new musical with Book and Lyrics by Kendell Pinkney, and Music by Danny Abosch (Fancy Nancy, Placebo). The reading will feature Ben Fankhauser (Newsies), Michael Mendez (Chaplin), and Jill Abramovitz (Cinderella) along with Jenny Rose Baker, Ally Bonino, Eric Stephenson, Jessica Kahkoska, Michael Fidalgo, and Michael Lapinsky. Broadway LeAps Onstage, a concert to benefit LeAp (Learning through an Expanded Arts Program) OnStage, will be held tonight, November 13th at 8pm at the Davenport Theatre. The event, raising funds and awareness of theatre arts education in underprivileged schools in New York, will feature a wide range of composers and performers. Newsies stars Ben Fankhauser and Andrew Keenan-Bolger are among the lineup.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, will welcome five original programming producers: Scott Coulter, Shoshana Feinstein, Brandon Ivie, Benjamin Rauhala, and T. Oliver Reid. In their new capacity, the five producers have been commissioned to create a variety of shows including musicals in concert, songwriter celebrations, reunion concerts, and more.
