Scott Alan, Drew Gasparini & More Set for LeAp Benefit Concert at Davenport Theatre Tonight

Broadway LeAps Onstage, a concert to benefit LeAp (Learning through an Expanded Arts Program) OnStage, will be held tonight, November 13th at 8pm at the Davenport Theatre. The event, raising funds and awareness of theatre arts education in underprivileged schools in New York, will feature a wide range of composers and performers. Newsies stars Ben Fankhauser and Andrew Keenan-Bolger are among the lineup.

The event will feature the work of Scott Alan ("Anything Worth Holding on To"), Drew Gasparini ("Smash"), Ryan Scott Oliver (Jasper in Deadland), and Alexander Sage Oyen (Outlaws), with additional work from Ethan Carlson (NYMF's Trailblazers, Grassroots), Solomon Hoffman (Fringe's Lydia and Tom), and Madeline Myers (LEGENDS & LORE). Additional performers will be announced.

Hosted by Ryan Scott Oliver, the event aims to foster collaboration between composers of various levels of experience and will showcase familiar, new, and upcoming works.

LeAp is a nonprofit, arts education organization committed to improving the quality of public education through a unique, hands-on, arts-based approach to teaching. Through this unique, comprehensive theater program, students write, act in, and direct 10-minute plays with the opportunity to perform their work on a professional stage. During this process Tony-award winning professionals meet with students, and renowned publisher Samuel French publishes an anthology of student plays.
