'Lefty and Crabbe' has matured and ripened on the vine and is now most definitely ready for prime time.
Down the Road, a magnificent production of Andy Perkins continues at the Buffalo Room located inside the Westport Flea Market in Kansas City, Missouri. Lee Blessing wrote Down the Road a social-issue drama that unfolds inside a motel room and a prison. He has written two other social-issue dramas Two Rooms and Patient A.
Eurydice, the story of love lost, found, and lost again currently plays at the Living Room Theatre in Kansas City, MO. Written by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Natalie Liccardello it is the retelling from Greek mythology of Eurydice, the wife of Orpheus and her travels into the Underworld following an early death. There she finds her father and faces a decision, whether to stay in Hade or leave with her husband Orpheus.
The world premiere of Columbus Day, a play by Forrest Attaway, closed on Sunday November 2 at the Living Room Theatre in Kansas City, Mo. Attaway stated the work began as a 60-minute production and over the last eight years, he developed into a full-length play. Bryan Moses directed the dark drama about poor choices, death, and misgiven trusts.
Bad Auditions, conceived and curated by Kevin King and produced by Whim Productions is playing at the Fishtank Performance Studio in Kansas City. The Kansas City Fringe Festival is bringing over 100 performances to the Kansas City area through July 27. Fortunately, for Kansas City the uproarious Bad Auditions is one of those performances.
