Centerstage Theatre will kick off its annual fundraiser, Celebrate Centerstage 2021, at 2 pm, May 9 before a semi-staged reading of a new adaptation of Within the Law at the Knutzen Family Theatre in Federal Way.  Due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions, this year's event will be virtual.

Centerstage Theatre needs to drum up $35,000 at its virtual fundraiser to keep operations going. Called Celebrate Centerstage 2020: Staying Afloat, the event runs June 20-24 and includes a silent auction, raise the paddle and more.

Award-winning actor/director/playwright Frank Ferrante recreates his PBS, New York and London acclaimed portrayal of legendary comedian Groucho Marx in this fast paced 90 minutes of hilarity. The two-act comedy consists of the best Groucho one-liners, anecdotes and songs including 'Hooray for Captain Spalding,' and 'Lydia, the Tattooed Lady.'

Rising Alternative today announced that San Francisco Opera's critically acclaimed production of SHOW BOAT will be screened in movie theatres across the country this summer. San Francisco Opera's production of the Broadway classic, which features music by Jerome Kern and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, opened in June of 2014, and is directed by theater and opera director Francesca Zambello.
