FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents John Arthur Greene in "These are the shows I didn't book…and why" on November 25th, 2018. 

'Hitler's Tasters' by playwright, Michelle Kholos Brooks will be performed at IRT Theatre in New York City through 10/27. Directed by Sarah Norris with choreography by Ashlee Wasmund, the cast includes MaryKathryn Kopp, Hallie Griffin, Kaitlin Paige Longoria, and Hannah Mae Sturges.Broadwayworld.com had the opportunity to interview Michelle about her career and "Hitler's Tasters."

Managing Director Dean R. Gladden announced today that Brandon Kahn has been appointed as General Manager of the Alley Theatre. A native Houstonian, Brandon joins the Alley from Williamstown Theatre Festival where he served over six seasons as Resident Production Stage Manager, Associate Line Producer, and most recently as the Producing Manager. Brandon will assume his General Manager duties October 22.

Cleveland Play House (CPH) brings to life Lynn Nottage's complex story of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Rust Belt drama Sweat.  Set in Reading, PA, this relevant story offers audience members suspense through its intricate portrayal of characters battling to survive in a city crippled by economic stagnation. CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley will direct. Previews begin on October 13th, with press opening on October 19th at the Outcalt Theatre in Playhouse Square. This production is sponsored by Great Lakes Brewing Company.

Gulfshore Playhouse's Sixth Annual New Works Festival takes place October 4-7, and it is not one to be missed! This is a very unique chance to get an inside look at the process of creating a new play and bringing it to life.

When there is a sick child in a family, says playwright Anne Marilyn Lucas, an entire family revolves around the child's illness.  In 2016 more American lives were taken by drug overdoses than were lost in the Vietnam War, according to the Centers for Disease Control, and deaths increased by 10.7%, to 72,000, the following year. 

Playwright Lynn Nottage's 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winning SWEAT, her raw take on the intertwining issues affecting a close-knit group of Reading, Pennsylvania townsfolk, has just opened at the Mark Taper Forum. Portraying Cynthia, the inescapable lightning rod in SWEAT's volatile scenario, Nottage stalwart Portia brings a human face to a multiple of 'faceless' generalized preconceptions. Portia gave us her thoughts on working with Lynn Nottage, Phylicia Rashad and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Buffalo Theatre Ensemble (BTE), the professional Equity company in residence at the McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage (COD) opens its 2018-2019 season with "The Dingdong, or How the French Kiss," a new adaptation by Mark Shanahan from "Le Dindon" by Georges Feydeau. Five actors play 13 roles in this bubbly, fast-paced adaptation of Feydeau's classic directed by BTE Artistic Director Connie Canaday Howard, where opening the wrong door can lead to mayhem, giggles and ultimately some unexpected understandings of a happy marriage. The play runs Sept. 6-Oct. 7. There will be a preview Sept. 6. Press opening is Friday, Sept. 7.   

New Light Theater Project is thrilled to present the New York premiere of HITLER'S TASTERS written by Michelle Kholos Brooks and directed by Sarah Norris. HITLER'S TASTERS begins performances on Friday, October 5 for a limited engagement through Saturday, October 27. Press opening is Wednesday, October 10 at 7:30 PM. The Bay Street Theater of Sag Harbor closes out their dazzling 27th Mainstage Season with a thrilling production of the Tony winning musical Evita under the clever direction of Will Pomerantz who also serves as Bay Street's Associate Artistic Director. Now running through September 2nd, this production boasts an absolutely brilliant cast as the adorable Long Island venue executes an innovative incarnation of the iconic Tim RiceAndrew Lloyd Webber tuner. Now I know it may seem productions of this show are a dime-a-dozen… but this particular production should really not be missed.

In honor of Artistic Director Michael Kahn's final season with the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), the opening show of the 2018-2019 Season, William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, will feature beloved performers, many of whom have been with the Company since the very beginning.

Drury Lane Theatre announces casting for its sultry summer drama, Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, directed by Tony nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge (2009 Broadway revival of Ragtime, Drury Lane's Smokey Joe's Cafe). Cat on a Hot Tin Roof runs July 5 - August 26, 2018, at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The press opening is scheduled for Thursday, July 12 at 8:00 p.m.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts held Some Enchanted Evening, the 27th Annual Summer Gala in Sag Harbor on the Long Wharf on July 7, 2018, with Jane Lynch as emcee. The event benefits Bay Street's educational and theatrical programs. The evening included special performances as well as a silent auction, cocktail party, live auction with celebrity auctioneer Richard Kind, dinner and dancing. And due to future restoration of the Long Wharf, this was the final gala to be held there. The theme this year was a Celebration of the Golden Age of Broadway. A star-filled concert kicked off the evening, with songs from the most beloved musicals including South Pacific, West Side Story, On The Town, Carousel, and more, written by the hilarious, award-winning playwright Jonathan Tolins (playwright of Buyer and Cellar and Bay Street's hit comedy The Forgotten Woman). Entertainment included Broadway star and East Hampton resident Howard McGillin (Mystery of Edwin Drood, Gigi, Bay Street's My Fair Lady and Grey Gardens) performing 'Some Enchanted Evening' and 'Something's Coming'; German and Australian star Sarah Bowden (Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, A Chorus Line at the Hollywood Bowl) and Cory Lingner performed 'Whatever Lolo Wants' with special thanks from Mary Callahan and Nicole Fosse from The Verdon Fosse Legacy; choreographer Joshua Bergasse who recreated his Tony nominated staging of 'New York, New York' from On the Town; and Robert Fairchild, former Principal Dancer New York City Ballet and starred in An American in Paris on Broadway performed 'Kansas City'; Phyre Hawkins performed 'Come Rain or Come Shine'; Nick Cearley and Wayne Alan Wilcox performed a medley from Guy and Dolls; Other performers include Bay Street Acting Apprentices Kara Arena, Lewis Elliott, Allison Gray, Meghan LeFlam, Anthony Sims and Phillip Young. The full company sang 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain.' Jane Lynch (two-time Emmy winning host of Hollywood Game Night and an Emmy and Golden Globe winner for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester on Glee) sang 'You'll Never Get Away From Me' with Richard Kind (Amazon's Red Oaks, The Producers, The Big Knife, Mad About You, Spin City, A Bug's Life, Cars, Inside Out, and Bay Street's productions including Enter Laughing, Romance, Travesties, and The Lady in Question). 'It was a wonderful evening and a great way to celebrate our last summer gala on the Long Wharf,' says Scott Schwartz, Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director. 'We will have a new location next year, but we had an amazing music-filled sunset party that supports Bay Street Theater.' 'The annual gala was a wonderful event and Bay Street's only fundraiser of the year,' says Executive Director Tracy Mitchell. 'Besides being a fun night in the theater and on the Wharf, the gala is the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts allowing us to support more than thirty other community organizations on the East End.' The evening's auction items included a week-long stay in St. Barth's for 4 at a luxury 2- bedroom WIMCO villa, complete with unparalleled concierge service, and roundtrip flights to the island from San Juan via private carrier Tradewind Aviation.
