George Street Playhouse has announced full casting for New Year's Eve a world premiere from the pen of ARTHUR LAURENTS. George Street Playhouse Artistic Director DAVID SAINT will direct a starry cast comprised of WALTER BELENKY, KEITH CARRADINE, PETER FRECHETTE, MARLO THOMAS and NATASHA GREGSON WAGNER. New Year's Eve marks the ninth collaboration between Saint and Laurents at the New Brunswick Playhouse, and the return engagement of Ms. Thomas, who starred in Elaine May's Roger is Dead last season.

Spring has sprung and Bay Street Theatre is proud to announce its' star-filled summer line-up, with celebrities and productions to suit a variety of tastes. From New York City witches to a dinner party from hell, from Dames at Sea to the musical talents of Michael Feinstein and Betty Buckley on shore-the Bay Street stage promises to be aglow in summer fun.

Manhattan Theatre Source (Jim Lawson, Artistic Director) will present Cathedral, a drama about faith and trauma in today?s Catholic priesthood, April 22 through May 16, 2009 at the theatre's Washington Square Park home (177 MacDougal Street).

Leslie Kritzer and Doug Kreeger, stars of the new hit Off-Broadway musical ROOMS a rock romance, will be this week's special guests on SIRIUS XM Live on Broadway Wednesday, April 8th at noon at The Broadway Concierge & Ticket Center in The Times Square Information Center (Seventh Ave. between 46th & 47th St.) Leslie and Doug will be performing musical numbers from ROOMS a rock romance, which recently opened to rave reviews at New World Stages. ZOMBIE has announced it will be extending through April 26th, 2009. ZOMBIE is an award-winning new solo play by Bill Connington, adapted from the novella by Joyce Carol Oates. ZOMBIE, not for the faint of heart, takes you inside the mind of a sexual psychopath and Jeffrey Dahmer-esque serial killer.

Friends In Deed will present a legendary trio as Charles Busch, Whoopi Goldberg and Lypsinka star in the first-ever New York presentation of the infamous Broadway-play-that-wasn't, LEGENDS!. Written by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner James Kirkwood (A Chorus Line), the play will be presented in a special One Night Only staged reading benefit on Monday evening, March 23 at 8PM at Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street).

Performances began Friday, February 27th at New World Stages/Stage 2 (340 West 50th Street). Opening Night is set for Monday March 16th. ROOMS a rock romance has music and lyrics by Paul Scott Goodman with a book by Goodman and Miriam Gordon, and is directed by Scott Schwartz (Golda's Balcony, Bat Boy: The Musical, tick, tick... BOOM!, Jane Eyre).

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced a one week extension for its production of RAGTIME. The musical will now run in the Eisenhower Theater April 18 through May 17, 2009. Based on a 1975 novel by E.L. Doctorow, the production features book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and will be directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge. The musical is part of the Kennedy Center?s Broadway: The Third Generation, a series celebrating the current generation of Broadway musical composers. The official press night will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.

Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of The Public Theater, has announced the 26-member Broadway cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical. Newcomers to the cast include Gavin Creel, Caissie Levy and Sasha Allen, who join the rest of the tribe, who are reprising their roles from Central Park last summer. HAIR begins preview performances on Friday, March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC) with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, 2009.

It may still be winter outside, but it's warm and cozy at the Bay Street Theatre on Saturday nights as CABARET @ THE BAY continues, Saturdays at 10 pm. On Saturday March 21st, cabaret artist Marlene Markard makes her Bay Street debut, singing both standards and classic favorites for young and old to enjoy.

Following a critically acclaimed World Premiere at The 2008 New York International Fringe Festival, Razors Edge Productions proudly presents a revival of Zombie, an award-winning solo play by Bill Connington, adapted from the novella by Joyce Carol Oates. Zombie is directed by Thomas Caruso and performed by Bill Connington. Zombie began performances on February 18 and continues through March 29, 2009 in a limited 6-week engagement at the Theatre Row Complex (Studio Theatre), located at 410 West 42 Street between 9 & 10 Avenues in NYC. Mercedes Ruehl will star in DINNER July 7 - August 2 An American Premiere, by Moira Buffini A dinner party from hell is the focus of this wicked satirical comedy, where caustic comments fly like poisonous darts across the dinner table. The playwright reminds us that 'revenge is a dish best served cold', but at this dinner party it is served frozen.

Yes it's OSCAR Night at Bay Street, and it promises to be another fun-filled evening for the entire community to enjoy together, with doors opening for the red carpet coverage beginning at 7pm on the big screen. Admission is free and all are welcome. Oscar Night coverage begins with Bay Street's own version of the red carpet, with local TV and media on hand. Dress up in high glam fashion (or not)-from ball gowns to torn jeans-all are welcome. Not only is admission free, but there is a chance you might even return home richer than when you arrived. That's because the evening will include a number of raffles for prizes, including free theatre tickets, interesting pieces from Bay Street's prop and wardrobe collections, a spa treatment, and a 50/50 raffle-where Bay Street will split the pot with the lucky winner.
