Bay Street Theatre kicks off the month of July with a bang as the legendary Betty Buckley returns for three performances of a new and critically acclaimed show 'Broadway By Request.' The 4th of July weekend fun begins on Friday, July 3 (Ms. Buckley's birthday concert) at 8pm, with additional shows on Saturday, July 4th at 5pm and 7pm. 'Broadway By Request' features songs and behind the scene stories from Buckley's many Broadway hits as requested by the audience.

Comedian David Brenner Comes To Bay Street 7/13 During Monday Night Comedy Club

David Brenner, stand-up comedian, author, and founder and creator of funnydeli.com is coming to Bay Street. Recognized as a political pundit who can be seen regularly on television news shows, Brenner will find the humor in current events on July 13 at 8:00 p.m. as part of Bay Street Theatre's Monday Night Comedy Club.

Euan Morton is homesick-but he sure picked a good year if he needed help getting over it! 2009 marks the 250th anniversary since the birth of Scotland's most famous songwriter and poet, Robert Burns. Burns (world famous for penning Auld Lang Sine) wrote hundreds of beautiful songs and poems. To celebrate, Scotland is calling '09 the Year of the Homecoming. With musical and theatrical events taking place all around the globe it's a fine time to be Celtic!

The Classical Theater of Harlem (CTH) will present the Off-Broadway premiere of Archbishop Supreme Tartuffe by Alfred Preisser & Randy Weiner, directed by CTH Co-Founder & Artistic Director, Alfred Preisser. Performances will begin June 12th and run through July 19th only at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues).

RIALTO CHATTER: Kennedy Center's RAGTIME Looks Set For Broadway Bow

Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty and Terrence McNally's RAGTIME, which was a critically acclaimed sell out at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. now looks set to bring it's 'new music' to Broadway. While there is no official word or comment an Equity casting notice has been posted to Backstage for a Broadway/Production contract for RAGTIME. The notice states rehearsal and performance dates are to be announced. Equity principal auditions will be held June 22, 24 and 25 while Equity chorus calls are June 26 for dancers and June 23 for singers.

HEART OF THE CITY With Foss, Kerns, Kurtz Begins 6/11 At Theater At 30th Street

Fern Kershon and Orange Thought Productions will present Heart of the City, a new play by Eric Lane, directed by Martha Banta, featuring Eliza Foss, Scott Kerns, Marcia Jean Kurtz, Martin LaPlatney, Melissa Miller and Mark Setlock. Performances will begin Thursday June 11th at the Theatre at 30th Street, for a limited engagement.

'How much are you willing to change for the one you love?' is the premise of Bay Street's first Main Stage production of the 2009 Summer Season, the betwitching romantic comedy Bell, Book and Candle. Written by John Van Druten, the play served as the inspiration for the hit television series Betwitched and was also a 1958 film starring Kim Novak and Jimmy Stewart.
