The Carbonell Awards, South Florida's Theatre & Arts Honors, held its 44th awards ceremony-the first virtual one in its history-on August 3.

Walters, Esq., board president of the Carbonell Awards, South Florida's Theatre & Arts Honors, today announced that the 44th awards ceremonya?"the first virtual one in its historya?"will be streamed at 7:30 pm on Monday, August 3, through the YouTube Channel of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Four women 'of a certain age' will take to the road and revisit the locales where each lost her virginity in Pigs Do Fly Productions' The Lost Virginity Tour by Cricket Daniel. There will be a preview performance on October 31st and the production will run from November 1st through November 24th at Empire Stage in Fort Lauderdale.

Darius J. Manuel dazzled the judges at the NSAL Florida East Coast Drama Competition held recently at The Crest Theatre at Old School Square. Darius won the $2,000 first prize and an all-expense paid trip to compete at the NSAL National Drama Competition in Washington, D.C. Manuel lives in Lauderhill and is the Teaching Artist/Director of the Florida Children's Theatre in Fort Lauderdale.

The National Society of Arts and Letters has discovered an array of stars including actress Shirley MacLaine, opera singer Jessye Norman, Broadway great Megan Hilty.
