Following a second sold-out residency at Château de Versailles Spectacles, Opera Lafayette returns home to the United States to launch its 20th anniversary season. The 2014-2015 season begins with the modern staged premiere of Jean-Philippe Rameau's Les Fêtes de l'Hymen et de l'Amour, ou Les Dieux d'Egypte (The Celebrations of Marriage and Love, or the Gods of Egypt) on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the At Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Hall. In honor of Opera Lafayette's 20th anniversary season, 20% of tickets for this production will be available for $20.

Cafe Cabaret is an eclectic variety/cabaret show with a strong rotating cast of performers. Hosted by G.P.A. and produced by Roberta Miles, this show will make you wet your pants. Cafe Cabaret happens every third Friday of each month at Cafe Ballou located @ 939 N Western. The show begins @ 7p. Donations are encouraged.

Tonight, April 30 at the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, and Friday May 2 at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Opera Lafayette begins its commemoration of the 250th anniversary of Jean-Philippe Rameau's death with Celebrating Rameau Part One: The Salon, a program devoted to the great composer's vocal and instrumental chamber works. French harpsichordist Olivier Baumont, professor at the Paris Conservatoire, is featured in a solo suite, joins violinist and artistic director Ryan Brown and viola da gambist Kenneth Slowik in one of the composer's Pièces de clavecin en concert, and performs transcriptions from Les Indes Galantes with harpsichordist Andrew Appel. Sopranos Gaële Le Roi and Kelly Ballou, and baritone David Newman, join to perform the lively Canons and Airs published in the composer's historic Treatise on Harmony.

The Jeff Awards Committee today announced 128 nominations in 24 categories of Non-Equity Jeff Awards for productions that opened between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2014. The Non-Equity Awards honor excellence in Chicago theatres not under a union contract. Jeff judges attended opening nights of 147 productions offered by 65 Non-Equity producing organizations. The judges recommended 66 of those shows, making them eligible for Non-Equity Jeff Award nominations. Thirty theatre companies received nominations.

Theatre of NOTE announces that it is adding two performances to the first show of its 2014 season, the Los Angeles premiere of disassembly, written by Steve Yockey, (2013 recipient of the LA Weekly Playwriting Award), and directed by Ovation Award-winner Tom Beyer. DISASSEMBLY will add two performances on Friday, March 28 &Saturday, March 29 at 8pm at Theatre of NOTE, 1517 N. Cahuenga Blvd (just north of Sunset) in Hollywood.

Lifeline Theatre's KidSeries presents Lyle Finds His Mother, a world premiere musical based on the beloved children's book by Bernard Waber, adapted by Jessica Wright Buha, with music and lyrics by Michael James Brooks, and directed by Lifeline Theatre Artistic Director Dorothy Milne. Lyle loves his life with the Primms in the house on East 88th Street. But everything changes when Hector P. Valenti, Star of Stage and Screen, returns with an offer to take Lyle to meet his mother in the land of the crocodile. Should Lyle trust the devious showman? And will his adopted family understand his desire to meet his birth mother? Travel the world on a journey of hilarity and heart in this world premiere musical for the entire family. This production is recommended for children ages five and up (children under two not permitted), and runs one hour with no intermission. The book will be on sale in the lobby.

Passing successfully as a young man, she soon discovers that she's not alone in protecting a secret and that nothing in the improbable war is as it seems. Scrambling to survive both the enemy and their untried officer, Polly's misfit company makes its way to the front, where it might just prove to be the least likely regiment to ever win a battle. A wickedly funny look at the absurdities of war and ambiguities of identity, brought to life by a cast of eleven actors, including Lifeline Theatre ensemble members Robert Kauzlaric, Katie McLean Hainsworth, and Christopher M. Walsh.
