Stagecrafters to Pull Back the Curtain with Reimagined JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR

Jesus Christ Superstar is a worldwide blockbuster that audiences have embraced for over 40 years. In its season finale, Stagecrafters offers a fresh perspective, reimagining the musical as played by a troupe of actors breaking into an abandoned theatre to re-enact the final days of Jesus Christ. All the while, the production illuminates the process of putting on a show, as audience members witness the actors' production coming together before their eyes.

The Theatre World Awards Board of Directors (Dale Badway, President), and The Dorothy Loudon Foundation (Lionel Larner, Executive Director), have announced the 2017 Theatre World Award Honorees for Outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway Debut Performance, the 9th Annual Dorothy Loudon Award Honoree for Excellence in the Theater and the 5th Annual John Willis Award Honoree for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre who will be celebrated at the 73rd Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony on Monday evening, June 5, 2017 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at The Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street), current home of The Great Comet, recipient of 12 Tony Award nominations including Best Musical.

Ann Arbor Senior Center to Host Author's Civil War Book Presentation Friday, 6/9

The City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation Cultural Arts Program presents author Patricia Camburn Zick (who writes under the name of P.C. Zick) to discuss her book, Civil War Journal of a Union Soldier, on Friday, June 9, 1-2:30 p.m. at the Ann Arbor Senior Center, 1320 Baldwin Ave. This cultural arts program will also include Civil War music by The Dodworth Duo presenting The Music of the America Past. Light refreshments will be provided by event sponsor, StoryPoint senior living community in Saline.

Photo Coverage: Theatres Around the World Will Celebrate Leonard Bernstein at 100

The Leonard Bernstein Office today announced "Leonard Bernstein at 100," a two-year global celebration of the life and career of the 20th century cultural giant, featuring more than 1,000 events on six continents. A kickoff at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, September 22, 2017 will officially launch the celebrations which continue worldwide through the end of August 2019.

Mountain Play presents BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and 50th Anniversary Music Festival

 The Mountain Play Association, the San Francisco Bay Area's most magical outdoor theater experience, will present the timeless classic Disney's Beauty and the Beast directed by Jay Manley for their 104th season. Based on the French fairy tale of the same name by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST tells the story of a monstrous prince and a young woman who fall in love. Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will take place every Sunday from May 21 to June 18, 2017.

Hawaii Symphony Announces Michael Titterton as President

As the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra approaches the conclusion of its fifth season, the organization is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Titterton as President. Titterton is the former President and General Manager of Hawaii Public Radio, a position he held from 1999 until his retirement in 2016. During his tenure at HPR he significantly increased listenership and expanded service to the entire state with two streams of programming. He joined the board of the HSO in October, 2016.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger proudly presents the inaugural summer concert festival "Live at the Arboretum" with Grammy award winning artist LeAnn Rimes on Saturday, July 8 at 6:30pm. at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Tickets start at just $10 and gates open for picnic dining at 5:00pm.
