About the Show

A funny and poignant new comedy, The Actress dramatizes the events backstage as a colorful, complicated woman makes her farewell performance, while dealing with the unexpected arrival of her provocative ex-husband. Drama and comedy collide as they say their goodbyes, declare their love, roar with laughter, spit insults, renew old battles, and grab a final embrace. This Charlotte premiere production is set in the 1930's and reunites the dynamic duo of Charles LaBorde as Director and Paula Baldwin as the titular leading lady, along with an all-star cast of Charlotte theatre favorites.

Three Bone Theatre's Classroom Series

Three Bone Theatre is turning the traditional talk-back model on its head by going out and engaging with our community for feedback and insight during the rehearsal process. For The Actress we partnered with Pavilion Health Center, a senior citizens home, and spent two days meeting with residents and hearing their stories about aging and how it impacted their careers and relationships to help inform our actors' choices. The Classroom Series was made possible, in part, with funding from ASC, the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources, and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.

2017-2018 Season Announcement

Three Bone Theatre will announce the line-up for the 2017-2018 season at the opening night of The Actress on May 18. The season features the best of contemporary theatre and continues our tradition of challenging audiences with complex characters and compelling stories.
