B Street Theatre, Sacramento's Resident New Works Theatre, is pleased to present the Regional Premiere of Buyer & Cellar, a one-man show by playwright Jonathan Tolins. Enjoying immediate success at the non-profit Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Buyer & Cellar moved to the Barrow Street Theatre for an Off-Broadway run. Playing to sold-out houses for months, Buyer & Cellar received an Off-Broadway extension until April of 2014. The critically acclaimed production went on to receive a Chicago engagement followed by a US Tour through November 2014.

In addition to the annual highly acclaimed and wildly successful 'Fantasy Festival' playwriting contest, this year for the first time B Street Theatre solicited student written plays for their Winter Tour show: 'Queens and Kings, Jokers and Jacks: Historical Adaptations of Medieval and Ancient History!' Out of over 60 plays submitted, 4 have been selected for the tour. The resulting show featuring all 4 winning plays will be performed at 84 assemblies in 80 schools in northern California between January 12 and February 20, 2015, with a special public performance at the B Street Theatre today, February 7 at 10 a.m.

Playhouse on Park continues its Main Stage series with the 2001 Pulitzer prize-winning and Tony award-winning show Proof written by David Auburn, which opens Friday, January 23 at 8:00 p.m. Proof follows the young Catherine, who faces her father Robert's untimely death on the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday. While she may have inherited her father's genius, Catherine seems to share the same deteriorating wits and emotional instability. She must also face the arrival of Claire, her estranged sister; and a developing relationship with Hal, a mentee of her late father who seeks to find a mathematical breakthrough hidden within the 103 notebooks Robert left behind. Proof will be playing from January 21-February 8, 2015.
