With a cast featuring Music Circus audience favorites and Broadway veterans, several of which have performed in the show on Broadway and on tour, West Side Story, the fifth production in the 65th Music Circus season, celebrates Broadway at its greatest. Performances are Tuesday, August 4 through Sunday, August 9 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company is proud to announce the lineup for the 10th annual First Look, a program dedicated to new play development, August 11 - 16, 2015 in the Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Providing an early look at works-in-progress from some of the most dynamic playwrights in the field, First Look develops new plays for future production at Steppenwolf and other theaters across the country. Since its inception in 2005, First Look has developed 14 plays that have received subsequent world premiere productions at other theatres, as well as Sex with Strangers by Laura Eason, which premiered on the Steppenwolf stage.

After fifteen years of growth and success in building a strong arts organization in Northern California, Founding Artistic Director Stephanie Gularte stepped down as Capital Stage's leader in 2013. Co-Founder and husband Jonathan Williams then was chosen by the board to take the helm of Sacramento's bold, thought provoking, non-profit professional theatre company. In the time that Jonathan has led the company we have seen significant growth in our subscription base, our educational programming, and in our commitment to bringing new works to the Sacramento Area. He has also been responsible for facility improvements including the expansion and development of our back patio.
