NT Live's filmed screening of Hamlet, featuring Hiran Abeysekera (Olivier award-winner for Life of Pi) in the title role, will be released in UK cinemas on January 22 and soon after around the world.

Review: HAMLET, National Theatre

“Suit the action to the word, the word to the action.” Given the National Theatre’s history with one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays, a new production of Hamlet is a natural fit in Indhu Rubasingham’s inaugural season as artistic director. Robert Hastie follows the likes of Laurence Olivier, Peter Hall, and Cicely Berry in setting down his own take on the play, helping to kick off Rubasingham’s tenure in a bold fashion.

Full Cast Announced for the Return of THE FATHER AND THE ASSASSIN at the National Theatre

The National Theatre has announced the full cast for Anupama Chandrasekhar’s critically acclaimed The Father and the Assassin, directed by the Kiln Theatre’s Artistic-Director, Indhu Rubasingham.  This gripping new play by one of India’s most exciting playwrights, returns to the Olivier Theatre from 8 September. 

Review: CHASING HARES, Young Vic

“I’m not political. Not at all.” Prab and his wife Kajol are struggling to make ends meet in early 21st century Kolkata. Since the local factory closed indefinitely, they’ve had to take on any jobs going ito be able to support themselves and their baby daughter, Amba. After treating themselves to a night at the theatre, they find themselves backstage with the performers – one of whom just so happens to be the son of the factory owner. Initially hoping to get back in the family’s good books if the factory ever does reopen, Prab inadvertently finds himself with a more stimulating task.
