The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene just presented a remarkable concert event celebrating the folk legend and actor Theodore Bikel in anticipation of his 90th birthday in May 2014. 'Miracle of Miracles: A Chanukah Extravaganza' filled the stage at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway, last night, December 2 with one rare musical treat after another. Featured in the all-star cast were the beloved Emmy-winning actor Fyvush Finkel, klezmer giant Frank London, the Russian concert phenomenon Psoy Korolenko and the Broadway actors Joanne Borts ('Once') and Elmore James, among many others. Hot on the heels of 'Good and Evil,' the September installment of his EP-a-month project for 2013, Brooklyn singer-songwriter Avi Fox-Rosen will be performing live with his trio at Pete's Candy Store in Williamsburg tonight, September 12th, at 9pm.

National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene, Executive Director Bryna Wasserman and Artistic Director Zalmen Mlotek, will present a multitude of theater and music events for its 99th season including the American premiere of the tender coming-of-age musical adapted from the 1975 Academy-Award-nominated and Golden-Globe-Award-winning film Lies My Father Told, November 10 through December 15, and the return by popular demand of The Megile Of Itzik Manger, March 2 through 16.

Hot on the heels of 'Under the Covers,' the August installment of his EP-a-month project for 2013, Brooklyn singer-songwriter Avi Fox-Rosen will be performing live with his trio at Barbes in Park Slope on Tuesday, August 13th, at 7pm.

The internationally acclaimed Arab-Israeli singer/songwriter Mira Awad is joined by three special guests during her week long engagement at the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street starting next Tuesday June 4. On Wednesday June 5, Awad welcomes from Israel the singer-songwriter David Broza; on Thursday June 6, the New York-based percussionist Shane Shanahan joins Awad, and on Friday June 7, Ernie Hammes, the trumpeter from Luxembourg, makes a special appearance.
