THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, PURCHASE COLLEGE (The PAC) is celebrating its 40th Anniversary with a step into the future and a nod to the past, with a curatorial eye towards honoring our history and prominently featuring the latest cutting-edge performances from artists who have been critical to our 40 years of success.

Among the show's stars are Teal Davis and Elliott Robinson, who portray the show's protagonists Huck and Jim and take audiences on a journey down the Mississippi River in the rollicking, rambunctious show. Somehow, the two actors found time in their hectic, tech week schedules and sat down to take on our questions in order to offer some insight into why they do what they do, as well as suggesting why you just can't miss Big River during its three-weekend run at 108 Donelson Pike.

Baryshnikov Arts Center's (BAC) Fall 2017 music presentations include BAC Salon: Telemann, Farrin, Wolfe + Prokofiev featuring the New York premiere of a work by Julia Wolfe (October 5 and 6); violin virtuoso Gidon Kremer performing Mieczyslaw Weinberg's 24 Preludes, Op. 100 (October 31 and November 1); and BAC Salon: Pauline Oliveros featuring IONE and International Contemporary Ensemble (November 28).

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Fall 2017 performance and residency series, which runs September 21 through December 15 and features an exciting lineup of international artists and cross-border collaborations. Dance presentations by choreographers Dorothee Munyaneza, Roy Assaf, and Kota Yamazaki-originally from Rwanda, Israel, and Japan, respectively-are infused with their creators' personal, geographic, and cultural influences.

Lincoln Center Theater's production of How to Transcend a Happy Marriage opened last night at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65th Street). At a dinner party in the wilds of New Jersey, two married couples discuss a younger acquaintance - a polyamorous woman who also hunts her own meat. Fascinated, they invite this mysterious woman and her two live-in boyfriends to a New Year's Eve party, which alters the course of their lives.

Last night, Co-Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Wu Han, announced the seventh season of the society's residency at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance from the stage. Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop) has announced that Lena Hall, Brian Hutchison, David McElwee, Naian Gonzalez Norvind, Omar Metwally, Austin Smith, Marisa Tomei, and Robin Weigert will be featured in the cast of its upcoming production of HOW TO TRANSCEND A HAPPY MARRIAGE, a new play by Sarah Ruhl. The production, which will be directed by Rebecca Taichman, begins previews Thursday, February 23 and opens on Monday, March 20 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).
