Theater for the New City, Crystal Field, Executive Director presents DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA, an explosive study of alienation and the redemptive power of love by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright John Patrick Shanley (Doubt, Moonstruck). Lissa Moira directs John Talerico and Susan Mitchell*. Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber present the next production in the second season of Chicago's hit 'lost' musicals in staged concert series, Porchlight Revisits... City of Angels, featuring book by Larry Gelbart (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, M*A*S*H), music by Cy Coleman (Sweet Charity, Barnum) and lyrics by David Zippel (The Goodbye Girl, Disney's Mulan) with direction by Christopher Pazdernik and music direction by Aaron Benham. City of Angels is presented for two-nights-only tonight, March 3 and Wednesday, March 4 at 8:00 p.m. and is performed on the set of Porchlight's Sondheim on Sondheim (February 6 - March 15) on nights when there are no performances at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave.

Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center Reopens Today with Susan Weil Exhibition

The Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center (BMCM+AC) celebrates the completion of the first phase of its renovation and expansion in downtown Asheville with the presentation of poemumbles: 30 years of Susan Weil's poem/images. Curated by Brian E. Butler, University of North Carolina Asheville Thomas Howerton Distinguished Professor of the Humanities, and Rachael Inch, Susan Weil Studio archivist and administrator, the exhibition is on view January 30 - May 23, and is accompanied by a roster of public programs. The exhibition includes over 60 of Weil's poemumbles made between 1984 and 2014. Additionally, several of her notebooks will be on display to provide a deeper look into her artistic process.

Directed by Sondra Lee and designed by Klara Zieglerova with lighting design by Mike Robertson, the show runs tonight, November 12 to 29, 2014. Press night is slated for November 14 at 7.15 p.m.

The event celebrated the company's 30th anniversary and honor Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Donald Margulies and award-winning producer, Julian Schlossberg. The Honorary Gala Co-Chairs are Brian d'Arcy James, Laura Linney, Elaine May, and Susan Stroman.
