Paper Mill Playhouse has announced complete casting for Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's classic musical West Side Story, directed by Paper Mill Playhouse's Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee and Jerome Robbins' original choreography recreated by Alex Sanchez. West Side Story is based on a conception by Jerome Robbins and features a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

The West End revival of Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton, which just took home four Olivier Awards on Sunday night, is still eying a Broadway run. According to the Wall Street Journal, a spokesperson for producers Michael Harrison and David Ian revealed that talks for a Broadway transfer are underway.

Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City, as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the 'American' Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.

Jonathan Kent's triumphant revival of GYPSY, starring Imelda Staunton as an indelible Momma Rose, leads the way at this Sunday's Olivier Awards with eight nominations. Staunton is hot favourite to pick up Best Actress in a Musical for her lauded performance, which fuelled hit runs at Chichester Festival Theatre and London's Savoy, as well as a BBC broadcast. Today in 2008, the fourth Broadway revival of Gypsy opened at the St. James Theatre, where it ran for 332 performances. Gypsy is a musical with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Arthur Laurents. It follows the dreams and efforts of Rose to raise two daughters to perform onstage and casts an affectionate eye on the hardships of show business life. The musical contains many songs that became popular standards, including 'Small World,' 'Everything's Coming up Roses', 'Some People', 'Let Me Entertain You', and 'Rose's Turn'.
