Leah Ryan's Fund For Emerging Women Writers celebrates ten years of awarding it's prize to women playwrights with 10 X 10: An Evening of 10 Minute Plays Celebrating Ten Years of Winners. The gala event will take place at Cherry Lane Theatre on March 30 and will feature world premiere short plays from past recipients Megan Mostyn Brown, Genia Femia, Jiehae Park, and Eliana Pipes. A pre-show cocktail reception begins at 6:00pm, followed by the main performance at 7:00pm and an afterparty at Cowgirl. The evening will be under the direction of Daniella Topol. The Bushwick Starr has partnered with National Black Theatre in presenting the world premiere of SKiNFoLK: An American Show, created by playwright and performer Jillian Walker (Blue Ink at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater, Sarah's Salt. developed at Roundabout Theater Company and MCC Theater), recent recipient of the NEA grant and the 2020-21 Tow Playwright-in-Residence at Soho Rep. The play is directed by Mei Ann Teo (Where We Belong at Shakespeare's Globe, Dim Sum Warriors at Shanghai's Theatre Above and national China tour).

(Time Out NY-recommended) once again brings together poets and performers in a fast-paced night of stimulating variations on a theme. The fourth episode of the season, a?oeRENEWED!a??, celebrates awakening, emerging, longing and survivinga?"all in the spirit of entering springtime. Host Thomas March's topical monologue will cover adolescent drunkenness, thwarted lust, and the profound indignities of the woods. The show will feature poetry from Jee Leong Koh & Katherine Barrett Swett, reading from their new collections; music from Carela & Mark Aaron James; and comedy from Whitney Chanel Clark & Jaye McBride. Musical Director Drew Wutke will be on keys.

THE MEETING* Hosted by Justin Sayre Will Return to Joe's Pub

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre - the monthly gathering of the International Order of Sodomites, the centuries-old organization which sets the mythic Gay Agenda - will return to Joe's Pubthis season for regular performances after a three year hiatus. The Meeting*, now the longest-running LGBTQ variety show in New York, is known for its audacious humor, trailblazing political discourse and button-pushing cultural exploration. Sayre will present two different evenings next month, celebrating 'The Ladies of Country' on Monday, March 2, and honoring 'The Ladies of Disco' on Sunday, March 29, both at 9:30 PM. Special guests for March 2 include Bridget Barkan, Melody Berger, Drew Droege, Larry Krone, and Bobby Blue the Balladeer, with additional names to be announced. Shows are scheduled through December 2020, with the spring season continuing on April 26 and May 31. Tracy Stark serves as music director for the series.
