Zoetic Stage and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County present THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, Simon Stephens' Tony Award-winning adaptation based on Mark Haddon's best-selling novel.

Randy's father takes a poor city boy, Steve, for the summer. The boys become fast friends destined for great adventures. From persuading a Marine Corps recruiter to enlist them at the age of thirteen to surviving a wild storm under sail, the boys move on to college with a commitment to change the world. For Steve, this means playing by the rules and working within the system.

Slipstream Theatre Initiative has become known for its gutsy adaptations of classics like Hamlet, A Doll's House, and Hedda Gabler. As season five approaches, the company is excited to explore new avenues. Starting in January, Slipstream will present cabaret nights, Mondays at 8:00 PM. Performers can come with sheet music, ready to sing, or they can just come hang out.

Popular Theater Inc. is premiering Faux-Bia! The Musical, a brand new spectacular musical in the style of Aristophanes for one glamorous night at Carnegie's Zankel Hall on Sunday, December 2nd 2018 at 7 p.m.

Announcing the world premiere of bare stage, a new play by award-winning Boston Playwright Michael Walker (Absolutely Dead, Dancing in the Garden). bare stage gives voice to the challenges and difficulties all participants face in a play with nudity, while calling into question the issues of censorship, artistic freedom, body-shaming, exploitation and simple morality surrounding the writing, production and performance of plays with nudity. bare stage seeks to answer the critical question - "When is nudity essential to the play, and when is it exploitation and a distraction?"

PEACE BY ARISTOPHANES is coming to the Latsia Municipal Theater, running Nov. 10 and Nov. 11. 

The Public Theater announced initial casting today for the world premiere of SOCRATES, written by acclaimed actor, director, and writer Tim Blake Nelson. Directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes, the powerful new play will begin with a Free First Preview performance on Tuesday, April 2 and run through Sunday, May 19 with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 16.

Oakland University's School of Music, Theatre and Dance will present Lysistrata Remix - a comedic battle of the sexes - from Nov. 15 through Dec. 2 in Varner Studio Theatre.

But live comedy is where she's in her element, and now she sets out on tour to 38 more welcoming destinations around the UK this spring with her newest show Skittish Warrior…Confessions of a Club Comic. This brand new hour brings sharp-tongued gags, cultural observation and whatever else is in her easily distracted mind at the time.

DUCDAME ENSEMBLE is proud to present the premiere of THE CONGRESSWOMEN as part of the New York International Fringe Festival - Fringe NYC. Directed by Shira Milikowsky, THE CONGRESSWOMEN is based on a play by Aristophanes & adapted by Kelly Strandemo, with the Ducdame Ensemble Company. Music Director is Ericka Ross, with Choreography by Andrew Barret Cox, Costume Design by Ashley Rose Horton with Quetzali Gonzalez as Assistant Director. Ducdame Ensemble Founding Member, Michael J. Connolly & fellow LAMDA alumna & Pocket Universe President, Alyssa May Gold, serve as THE CONGRESSWOMEN'S producing team.

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) will open its 2018-2019 season with a concert honoring Phenomenal Women presented by Carnegie Hall in Zankel Hall on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 7:30pm. The performance, conducted by ACO Music Director George Manahan, will feature the world premiere of Valerie Coleman's Phenomenal Women performed by the Imani Winds with ACO; as well as the world premiere of Alex Temple's Three Principles of Noir with singer Meaghan Burke, director Amber Treadway, and costumes by Storm Garner. Grammy and Grawemeyer Award-winning composer Joan Tower's Chamber Dance from 2006, which treats the orchestra as a chamber ensemble, completes the program.
