The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA), under the artistic direction of Ben Donenberg, returns to The Japanese Garden on the West Los Angeles VA Campus with a new production - 'Henry IV' - condensing two of Shakespeare's plays and staged by Tony Award winning director Daniel Sullivan. Classical singer and musical actress, Aim e Marcoux-Spurlock, whose true-life story came to the big screen in 2017 in the acclaimed Sony release, All Saints, will take the stage of The Triad Theater in The Women of Bilbao, a collection of Kurt Weill's compositions from his 12-tone Weimar period to his more lush Broadway compositions. The repertoire includes 'Surabaya Johnny' from Happy End, 'Moon of Alabama,' from The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny and 'That's Him' from One Touch of Venus. Marcoux-Spurlock will be joined by Doug Martin as Pianist-Conductor (Baz Luhrmann's La Boh me on Broadway). Michael Feingold, noted arts critic (Village Voice), is the director.

Community, belonging, family-these are three words many people use to describe their experience with community theatre. In the production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Gettysburg Community Theatre that sense of family is literal. One family has three generations represented on stage--Pat and Dave Conklin, their daughter and son-in-law Carrie and Greg Trax, and their daughters Tessa and Audrey Trax. Before opening night of Joseph, some of the family members were trying to recall when they started performing. Third grader Audrey Trax traced her stage experience back to when she was three years old. For Audrey and Tessa's grandmother, Pat, the answer was easy, as this performance of Joseph is her debut performance.
Enderby Entertainment today announced that Academy Award-winning director Robert Port will write and direct the World War II action thriller PEACE, based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Richard Bausch. The film will star Alexander Ludwig and Sam Keeley and is being produced by Enderby's Rick Dugdale (AN ORDINARY MAN, INTRIGO TRILOGY) and by Richard Bullock. Maury Povich and Ludwig will serve as Executive Producers, which reunites Povich and Port after their Oscar-winning film Twin Towers. Principal photography is set to commence later this month in British Columbia.
Seven time Emmy Award-winner Ed Asner and three time Emmy Award and Tony Award-nominee Kate Burton will star in a two-week East Coast tour of concert readings of Jeff Cohen's play The Soap Myth. The readings, which will be directed by Pam Berlin and will also feature Ned Eisenberg & Blair Baker, will serve as a tribute to International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The tour will begin on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Miami Beach Florida, and will conclude on Thursday, February 1 at Hofstra University on Long Island.
