Opera San José Launches Season With All-New ROMEO & JULIET

Opera San José will launch its 40th anniversary season with an all-new production of Charles Gounod's Romeo and Juliet, directed by OSJ General Director/CEO Shawna Lucey, in her first production since taking the helm of the company. Romeo and Juliet follows on the heels of Lucey's critically acclaimed La Traviata for San Francisco Opera, which is scheduled to be remounted at Los Angeles Opera this fall.

Keen Company announced details for its site-specific production of Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking. Starring Obie and Drama Desk Award winner Kathleen Chalfant in a one-woman tour de force performance. This must-see revival, running October 19–November 20 with an opening set for November 2, will be intimately staged across New York City.

59E59 Theaters has announced the complete casts & creative teams for the inaugural VOLT Festival at 59E59. New Golden Age begins previews on April 28, 2022, in Theater B and opens May 11 for a run through June 9, 2022. Goldie, Max & Milk begins previews May 1, 2022, in Theater C and opens May 8 for a run through June 4, 2022.

The McKittrick Hotel (530 West 27th Street, NYC), home of Sleep No More, announced today that the New York premiere of How the Hell Did I Get Here?, a new musical story starring “Downton Abbey’s” Mrs. Patmore, Lesley Nicol, will play a strictly limited engagement in The Club Car starting on April 20 with opening night set for April 27.
