Central Works 2018 season of new plays leaps into the spring with the world premiere of Palace Wreckers, Inc, written and directed by Gary Graves, opening with a press night on Saturday, May 12, and running through June 10  (previews May 10 & 11) in architect Julia Morgan's historic Berkeley City Club. This Central Works Method play is a "revenge comedy" - based on a Greek tragedy, turned into a contemporary comedy. The Central Works Method brings together writer, actors and director at the very outset of the playwriting process. In a supportive workshop environment, group research and collective brainstorming contribute to the entire development of the script.

Dr. John Fyer is a seminal but little-known LGBT civil rights pioneer and is memorialized in the play 217 Boxes of Dr. Henry Anonymous written and directed by three-time Obie award-winning playwright Ain Gordon. Originally commissioned by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania and underwritten by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, the Pick Up Performance Co(s) production is presented by Equality Forum, a national and international LGBT civil rights organization.

XYZ Films announced today that Lily Collins (TO THE BONE) will star in the survival thriller TITAN, which will be written and directed by Austin Bunn (writer of KILL YOUR DARLINGS). The film will be produced by Christine Vachon (CAROL, BOYS DON'T CRY, FAR FROM HEAVEN) and David Hinojosa (BEATRIZ AT DINNER, FIRST REFORMED, WIENER DOG) for Killer Films, with XYZ Films executive producing and handling international sales at the upcoming Marché du Film at Cannes. CAA and UTA will partner to handle domestic sales.

The North American premiere of Timothy Sheader's explosive Olivier Award-winning production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar opens this month at Lyric and includes artists Heath Saunders as Jesus, Ryan Shaw as Judas, and Jo Lampert as Mary Magdalene. Lyric is the only place to experience the grand scale of this acclaimed production in its first staging outside London.
