American Conservatory Theater announced today that veteran actor Ken Ruta will be interviewed by Tony Award winner and A.C.T. Artistic Director Pam MacKinnon as part of Virtually Speaking, a series of in-depth conversations with prominent icons of the industry, being held on Friday, April 16 at 6 p.m. PT.
The anniversary episode broke the single-show fundraising record, raising over $28,300 (including a $10,000 matching grant from the Frances Lear Foundation). Now, after over 375 episodes, “Stars In The House” has raised over $751,842 for The Actors Fund & $200,000 for other charity organizations who have needed support throughout the pandemic.
Stars in the House, which officially kicked off on March 16, 2020 is a daily series that features stars of stage and screen singing or performing plays live (from home!) to promote support for charitable services for those most vulnerable to the effects of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
On March 16, 2020, Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley launched “Stars In The House” in response to what they knew would be an immediate need for funds in light of the Broadway shutdown. Now, one year and over 375 episodes later, “Stars In The House” has raised over $715,000 for The Actors Fund & an additional $200,000 for other charity organizations.
