Jo-Ann Ragosta, Chairperson of the ARTS Scholarships 2014 program, along with the members of the Community Outreach Committee of the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), have announced the winners of the ARTS Scholarships 2014 program, sponsored by the Textron Charitable Trust and PPAC Annual Fund Donors. This year's program will award scholarships to 33 talented Rhode Island students, ages 11 - 14, each of whom will receive a scholarship of up to $500 to attend local summer arts education programs that will expand their experiences in a chosen area of study (please see below for the list of ARTS Scholarships 2014 winners).
The Glimmerglass Festival's theater was filled Saturday night with the light sound of dancers' footsteps, the melodic voices of children and the practiced tones of adult soloists, at the premiere of Passions. This double bill is comprised of late period baroque composer Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and the Pulitzer Prize-winning the little match girl passion by David Lang. This year's camp has been expanded and will be offered for two separate three-week sessions- the first from July 8 - 26 and the second from July 29 - August 16.
