Providence Performing Arts Center Announces Winners of ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS 2014

Jo-Ann Ragosta, Chairperson of the ARTS Scholarships 2014 program, along with the members of the Community Outreach Committee of the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), have announced the winners of the ARTS Scholarships 2014 program, sponsored by the Textron Charitable Trust and PPAC Annual Fund Donors. This year's program will award scholarships to 33 talented Rhode Island students, ages 11 - 14, each of whom will receive a scholarship of up to $500 to attend local summer arts education programs that will expand their experiences in a chosen area of study (please see below for the list of ARTS Scholarships 2014 winners).

Photo Flash: Glimmerglass Festival's STABAT MATER & THE LITTLE MATCH GIRL PASSION, Thru 8/22

The Glimmerglass Festival's theater was filled Saturday night with the light sound of dancers' footsteps, the melodic voices of children and the practiced tones of adult soloists, at the premiere of Passions. This double bill is comprised of late period baroque composer Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and the Pulitzer Prize-winning the little match girl passion by David Lang. OSTC Musical Theater Camp Expands to Two Sessions for Summer 2013

Does your child like to sing, dance and use their imagination? If so, Camp OSTC is the perfect place for them to utilize their musical theatre talent and have fun at the same time! This year's camp has been expanded and will be offered for two separate three-week sessions- the first from July 8 - 26 and the second from July 29 - August 16. Campers may attend either or both sessions.

Theatre By the Sea to Present Children's Show HONK! JR., 8/3

Ocean State Theatre Company, currently celebrating its Fifth Anniversary Season as the not-for-profit producing entity at the historic Theatre By The Sea, is thrilled to present the 2000 Olivier Award-winner for Best New Musical, Honk! Jr. Performed by Camp OSTC participants, HONK! JR. will be presented as part of Theatre By The Sea's 2012 Children's Festival on Friday, August 3, 2012.

Ocean State Theatre Company, currently celebrating its Fifth Anniversary Season as the not-for-profit producing entity at the historic Theatre By The Sea, is thrilled to present the 2000 Olivier Award-winner for Best New Musical, Honk! Jr. Performed by Camp OSTC participants, HONK! JR. will be presented as part of Theatre By The Sea's 2012 Children's Festival on Friday, August 3, 2012.

Jo-Ann Ragosta, Chairperson of the ARTS Scholarships 2012 program, along with the members of the Community Outreach Committee of the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), are pleased to announce the winners of the ARTS Scholarships 2012 program, sponsored by Textron Inc. with support from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, Ocean State Charities Trust, and the PPAC Annual Fund Donors. This year's expanded program will award scholarships to 30 talented Rhode Island student artists, ages 11-14, each of whom will receive a scholarship of up to $500 that will provide an opportunity to attend local summer arts education programs that will expand their experiences in a chosen area of study (please see below for the list of ARTS Scholarships 2012 winners).

Theatre By the Sea Presents TWINDERELLA, 7/29

Did you know that Cinderella has a long lost twin brother named Bob living in the same kingdom with his own wicked stepfamily? That is the premise behind the hilarious family musical, Twinderella, which will be presented as part of Theatre By The Sea's 2011 Children's Festival on Friday, July 29, 2011.

Registration Extended And Scholarships Available For Camp OSTC

Does your child like to sing, dance and use their imagination? If so, Camp OSTC is the perfect place for them to utilize their musical theatre talent and have fun at the same time! There are still a few spots left for the two-week musical theatre camp, which is being conducted by the professional theatre staff at Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), the not-for-profit producing entity at the historic Theatre By The Sea. But don't delay, the registration deadline is July 8, 2011.

BORN FOREVER To be Choreographed by Jacqulyn Buglisi

Choreographer Jacqulyn Buglisi, with members of the Buglisi Dance Theatre company, is creating a new ballet entitled Born Forever, an original dance piece with music inspired by Fame The Musical and its sequel Fame Forever.
