The award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist Deborah Cox, who made her Broadway debut taking over the title role in AIDA, is set to return to Broadway as Josephine Baker -- the exotic Parisian star of the famed Folies Bergère -- in the new musical JOSEPHINE, featuring music by three-time Grammy-nominee Steve Dorff, lyrics by Oscar and Golden Globe-nominee John Bettis, and book by Ellen Weston and Mark Hampton. Variety is reporting that Music and TV talent agent Fred Lawrence has died at the age of 68. Mr. Lawrence passed away Aug. 7 of cardiac arrest after a lengthy illness in Burbank, California.

Country music star, CMA Winner, ACM Winner and four-time Grammy Nominee Joe Nichols has been offered the role made famous by George Strait in the Broadway production of the hit movie, Pure Country. According to producer Randall L. Wreghitt, the musical is in the process of securing the remainder of its financing and casting, and plans to open in early 2010.
