Saturday, August 13 internationally renowned singer Giada Valenti will perform at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center, Dix Hills, NY. The singer who was featured six years in a row on NBC4 while performing on the Red Carpet at the Columbus Day Parade in New York City, is finally returning back to Long Island.

New in the repertoire of Giada's show are a very special medley of hits of the Carpenters, a very special version of the song "Something" of the Beatles and Giada's own rendition of the song "You Needed Me" of Anne Murray.

Of course the audience can expect also several Italian favorites, like "Caruso", "Marinariello" and "Io Che Non Vivo Senza Te". But she will sing also a medley of Perry Como hits and Giada's interpretation of "La Vie En Rose". In the last year Giada worked on a new sound for her songs, which could be decribed as Adult Contemporary Pop with Rock and Jazz influences. The songs are more guitar driven which gives them a more modern sound.

Giada will be accompanied at this show by her own band, with as Musical Director Mr. Etienne Stadwijk, who also accompanied for over 10 year Tony Award and Grammy award winner Harry Belafonte.

Tickets $20 - $25 - $30. For ticket information call (631) 656-2148.

Born and raised in Venice, Italy, Giada Valenti started to sing and play piano at the age of seven. She began touring professionally with a band by age twelve. She studied piano and music theory at the Santa Cecilia music school in Venice and got her music degree at the G. Tartini in Trieste. She also studied jazz with American singer Dawn Mitchell.

Since her music got serious interest from a major record label, in 2004, she spends most of her time in the United States. In December 2005, Giada's self-released CD Italian Signorina was launched in the USA to great reviews. Italian Signorina featured the song "Caruso" that Giada performed on the red carpet at the Columbus Day Parade in 2005, 2006, and 2007 in New York City. Giada has performed a selection of songs of her new CD "And I Love You So" at the 2008, 2009 and 2010 edition of this parade, and was featured on WNBC 4 New York.

In 2008 Giada was named Woman of the Year by the Organization of Italian Charities In America. In February 2010 she was honored by the Commision for Social Justice of the Order Sons of Italy in America for being a good Italian role model. Figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi used Giada's music in an ice show performance broadcast on NBC.
