National Theatre Announces New Casting for Upcoming Season

New casting announced for the new National Theatre season. Full cast has been announced for Brian Friel's Translations including Colin Morgan and Ciaran Hinds, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Eric Kofi Abrefa and Thalissa Teixeira join Vanessa Kirby in the cast of Julie, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Sam Mendes directs The Lehman Trilogy, a co-production with Neal Street Productions, cast includes Adam Godley, Ben Miles and Simon Russell Beale. Full casting is announced for the award winning An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, transferring to the National Theatre in a co-production with the Orange Tree Theatre. The NT will tour to 30 venues in 27 towns and cities across the UK and Ireland, for a total of 83 playing weeks over the next year. Rufus Norris' Macbeth to tour to 18 venues across the UK and Ireland from autumn 2018. War Horse returns to the National Theatre marking the centenary of Armistice Day.
National Theatre Live Adds Two Shakespearean Classics, JULIUS CAESAR And MACBETH To Slate Of U.S. Cinema Offerings This Spring

Fathom Events, BY Experience and National Theatre Live have a full line-up of top London stage productions set for U.S. cinema audiences in early 2018. Newly added titles include director Nicholas Hytner's Bridge Theatre production of 'Julius Caesar' (March 22) and Rory Kinnear's return to the National Theatre stage as the title role in 'Macbeth' (May 17). These two titles are in addition to Tennessee Williams' 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' (February 22), captured live from London's West End, and the fastest-selling show in London theatre history -- and most-watched NT Live broadcast -- 'Hamlet' (March 8).

The National Theatre Announces a New Season Of Talks and Events

Talks and events at the National Theatre start this year with The Jungle - exploring the issues on 6 January. The talk will explore the issues raised in the play as well as the refugee situation more widely with panel members from Good Chance Theatre directors Joe Robertson and Joe Murphy, Nico Stevens (COO, Help Refugees) and Lord Dubs (who sponsored an amendment to the Immigration Act which allows unaccompanied refugee children to settle in the UK).
STC to Stage Heather Raffo's NOURA as Part of Women's Voices Theater Festival

As part of the second Women's Voices Theater Festival, Shakespeare Theatre Company presents the world-premiere production of Noura, a new play written by award-winning playwright and performer Heather Raffo (Nine Parts of Desire). Directed by Joanna Settle and featuring Raffo in the titular role, the play will run at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street NW) February 6 March 11, 2018.

Rehearsals for Elliott & Harper Productions' inaugural production, Heisenberg: The Uncertainty Principle by Simon Stephens began this week. Directed by the Olivier and Tony award-winning Marianne Elliott, it runs at the Wyndham's Theatre in London from 3 October 2017 to 6 January 2018, with a press night on Monday 9 October 2017. Marianne's many credits include the award-winning productions of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, War Horse and most recently the National Theatre's production of Angels in America, which will transfer to Broadway next year, as a co-production with Elliott & Harper.
