Court Theatre has appointed three new individuals to its staff. Regina Victor joins Court as their first-ever Associate Producer, while Andrew Berg will serve as the theatre's Director of Development, and Gabrielle Randle will conduct research in conjunction with Court's Oedipus Trilogy as an Artistic Fellow.

Signature Theatre has announced casting and the creative team for Fires in the Mirror, by Obie, Drama Desk and MacArthur Award winner Anna Deavere Smith, featuring Michael Benjamin Washington (The Boys in the Band) and and directed by Saheem Ali.

Epic Theatre Company begins its eighth season this September with Anna Deavere Smith's Fires in the Mirror: Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and Other Identities which will kick off a season that concludes a three-year examination of power in America.

L.A. Theatre Works has announced its 2019-20 season of seven plays, each of which will be recorded in front of a live audience for future radio broadcast and online distribution. Performances take place at the James Bridges Theater, located on the campus of UCLA in West Los Angeles. In addition, the company will introduce audiences to its signature style of radio theater at venues across the country during its 16th annual national tour.

The American Theatre Wing announces new appointments to its Board of Trustees and Advisory Committee

651 ARTS, Brooklyn's premier organization for the African Diasporic arts, today announced the appointment of seasoned nonprofit arts leader David J. Roberts as the renowned institution's new Executive Director. The selection of Roberts follows an extensive nationwide search led by cultural consulting firm CJAM Consulting, LLC and 651's Board of Directors. Roberts, who succeeds former Executive Director Shay Wafer, will report to the Board of Directors and will officially assume the role in August, 2019. 

California Shakespeare Theater continues its 2019 summer season with The Good Person of Szechwan by Bertolt Brecht, translated by Wendy Arons and adapted by Tony Kushner, playing July 3 through July 21, 2019 at the Bruns Amphitheater. A Pay What You Can performance will be held on Wednesday, July 3. Tickets will be available starting at 10am on the day of the show through TodayTix and the Cal Shakes Box Office at 510.548.9666.

LET ME DOWN EASY is a series of 20 monologues about life, health, sickness, and death. It's one of the best shows of the year.

TRT closes their 20182019 season with 'Oo-Bla-Dee' by Regina Taylor from June 8 to June 30. The production is directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson and features original music by Diedre L. After a limited five-week engagement with thousands of patrons participating in community conversations as part of ZACH Theatre's production of Anna Deveare Smith's Notes From the Field, ZACH is proud to take the conversation beyond the stage. Theatre, in this case, has opened dialogue and can be used to affect positive change. In partnership with the various Austin Community Leaders, ZACH remounted Notes From the Field for a special one-night-only performance including opening remarks by Mayor Steve Adler. Allowing for more in-depth conversations, the breakout sessions during the production will be extended with a reception and mixer to follow the show.

Unbound, a book launch series with BAM and Greenlight Bookstore presents Anna Deavere Smith, playwright, actress, and activist, for the release of her book Notes from the Field. Smith will discuss her powerful new work with Dr. Carla Shedd, associate professor of sociology and urban education at CUNY Graduate Center.

WP Theater, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Lisa McNulty and Managing Director Michael Sag, is thrilled to announce the inaugural WP Theater's 40th Anniversary Reading Series. In the first outing of this annual series, past meets present as WP shares staged readings of five extraordinary plays from throughout its history, directed by recent alums and current members of the WP Theater Directors Lab. The 5-night free series will launch on Monday, March 25 and run through Friday, May 3, 2019 at WP Theater, 2162 Broadway at 76th Street.
