On Wednesday, July 12, 2017, DreamWrights Center for Community Arts received a generous gift of support. Andrew Koplitz, Assistant Business Services Partner for York Traditions Bank, presented a $3000 check to Ann Davis, Executive Director of DreamWrights. With this EITC funding, York Traditions Bank will be the sole sponsor of It's A Wonderful Life.
Protecting the body from injury is important to a dancer. Teachers Tanya T. Roberts and Melissa Desrosiers and director Ann Davison from The Bedford Youth Performing Company in Bedford, New Hampshire visited the Marblehead School of Ballet and attended a customized workshop presenting in-depth lessons on injury prevention techniques using proper alignment and core strength for dancers.
At this year's League of American Orchestras National Conference, the Volunteer Council of the League will present the Women's Committee of The Cleveland Orchestra (WCCO) with a Roundtable Award in the annual Gold Book competition.

Magic Theatre's 50th anniversary gala fundraiser was held on Friday, April 7, at the Minnesota Street Project and celebrated 50 years of artistic trailblazing by honoring the theatre's previous Artistic Directors (including founder John Lion and successors Harvey Seifter, Larry Eilenberg, Mame Hunt, Chris Smith and current Artistic Director Loretta Greco). DreamWrights Center for Community Arts is pleased to announce its new board members for 2017, its twentieth anniversary year. Claudette Calder, Procurement Manager at Armstrong Flooring, Mark Evans, CEO at Protech Mechanical Contractors Inc., Tom LaForgia, Development Officer at York College, Trisha Melikian, Accountant for the City of York, Amy Young, Business Development at Wagman Construction, and Kirk Wisler, Physical Education Teacher West York Area School District, bring focus and expertise to the team. Three teen advisors: Christine Catterall, a freshman at York Catholic, Brayton Kominsky, an 8th grader at Northeastern Middle School, and Jacob Whitacre, a sophomore at West York Area High School, add the younger voices and viewpoints necessary to the mission. These new board members join returning members, Allison Witherow, Jim Tyson, Jason Sabol, Randy Riley, Suzanne McConkey, J.T. Hand, Kevin Alvarnaz, and board chair, Stacey MacNeal.
Wolverhampton Musical Comedy Company (MUSCOM) will return to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre next year with a musical based on the hits of 'The King' himself, Elvis Presley.
Theatre at the Center's production of Annie Warbucks, the sequel to Annie, the 1977 Tony Award-winning smash Broadway hit, opened to a packed house Sunday, November 20. Based on Harold Gray's Little Orphan Annie comic strip, the book is by Thomas Meehan with music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin. Annie Warbucks opened Off Broadway in 1993 and broke records for the time with 200 performances. The Jeff Recommended production will continue through December 18. Christine Mild as Rhetta Cupp, Shaun Whitley as Jim, Matt Holzfeind as Jackson, Matt Edmonds as L.M. and Cody Siragusa as Eddie are joined by Veronica Garza, who returns to the TATC stage to play Rhetta's sister Prudie Cupp. Directed by Brian Russell with musical direction by William Underwood, Pump Boys and Dinettes will continue through October 16.
