The 33rd Annual MAC Awards were handed out last night (Tuesday, March 26, 2019) during a glitzy evening at New York City's SONY Hall.

To celebrate the 121st birthday of lyricist E.Y. 'Yip' Harburg, Richard Skipper has assembled a brunch time cabaret tribute to the legendary lyricist, to be staged at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on April 8, with cabaret stars Karen Oberlin, Leslie Orofino, Maureen Kelley Stewart and a special appearance by Anita Gilette.

Paper Mill Playhouse lost its former Executive Producer Angelo Del Rossi on Saturday, August 30, 2014. Angelo Del Rossi helmed Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey, for forty years. Yesterday, Angelo's husband Per Rasmussen hosted a memorial tribute at Paper Mill Playhouse where the entire theater community celebrated the life of Angelo Del Rossi. Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons celebrated its annual Spring Gala yesterday evening, June 11th at the event space 583 Park Avenue. Titled "The Highest Standard", the evening celebrated its five Pulitzer Prize-winning productions and honor the creators of these memorable works for the theater. The honorees were James Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George), Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park), Stephen Sondheim (Sunday in the Park with George), Alfred Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy), Wendy Wasserstein (The Heidi Chronicles) and Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife). Jim Caruso presented Broadway and television star Linda Lavin in 'Possibilities,' a concert celebrating her new CD of the same name. The event took place on Monday, February 21 at 7pm, as part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series, celebrating performers and composers from the Great White Way. Linda Lavin is currently starring in Other Desert Cities at Lincoln Center. Accompanying Linda will be Billy Stritch on piano, Bucky Pizzarelli on guitar, John Brown on bass, Aaron Weinstein on violin and Steve Bakunas on drums.

Alan Alda stopped by the New World Stages to visit his old M*A*S*H television castmate Jamie Farr and his current co-star Anita Gilette and catch a performance of their hit Off-Broadway comedy, Flamingo Court.
