The Films in Competition Announced For The 2019 American Black Film Festival

The 23rd Annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF) is excited to announce their distinctive 2019 lineup of narrative features, documentaries and short films in competition. Films are set to screen in Miami from June 13-15 at the Regal Cinemas South Beach and the New World Center.

Toronto LGBT Film Festival, Inside Out, Announces Lineup

The 29th annual Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival (Inside Out), championing innovative LGBTQ filmmakers from across the globe, revealed its full feature and short film lineup. The announcement was made today by Inside Out's Executive Director Andria Wilson and the festival's Director of Programming Andrew Murphy. Inside Out, which launched the first ever annual LGBTQ Film Finance Forum, has established itself as an international home and incubator for LGBTQ emerging and established filmmakers. This year's festival will take place May 23 to June 2, 2019.

FX Announces New Season Two Premiere Date for POSE

FX has set the premiere date for the second season of the award-winning and groundbreaking drama series Pose from Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions, it was announced today by Chuck Saftler, President, Program Strategy and COO, FX Networks. The ten-episode second season of Pose will debut on Tuesday, June 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.

The monologue showcase 50 in 50: Letters to Our Daughters features an all-star cast of familiar names and faces from stage and screen, including Tony award-winning Broadway star LaChanze, actress Pauletta Pearson Washington, original Hamilton cast member Jasmine Cephas Jones, and actress and comedienne Phyllis Yvonne Stickney who bring to life letters written by 50 women of color about their hopes, dreams, regrets and fears for their daughters.

Tribeca Film Festival Announces 2019 Short Film Lineup

The 18th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its 2019 lineup of 63 diverse and engaging short films in competition, including 31 world premieres. This year's shorts program includes a cross-section of international and U.S. filmmakers, curated from a record 5131 submissions with female filmmakers directing 45% of the selections. The short films will be presented in 11 distinct competition programs, consisting of six narrative, four documentary, and one animation program. There will also be special screening programs for the annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival and the debut of shorts from The Queen Collective, a program aimed at accelerating gender and racial equality behind the camera. The 2019 shorts lineup is programmed by Sharon Badal and Ben Thompson. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 - May 5.

The Trevor Project to Honor Ryan Murphy, POSE Cast

The Trevor Project will honor Emmy®, Golden Globe® and Peabody® Award-winning screenwriter, producer and director Ryan Murphy and the cast of the FX series POSE at The Trevor Project's TrevorLIVE Los Angeles gala for their commitment to supporting the nonprofit's mission to provide crisis intervention services and end suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning young people. TrevorLIVE Los Angeles will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2 at The Beverly Hilton.

POSE, Justin Simien & Sony Pictures Classics to Receive Outfest Legacy Awards

Outfest, the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBTQ stories on the screen, announced today that it will honor the producers and cast of FX Networks “POSE” at the 2018 Legacy Awards on Sunday, October 28th. Outfest will also honor writer/director Justin Simien (Dear White People), as well as 39-time Academy Award® winner, Sony Pictures Classics.

Set in the 1980s in New York City, Pose is a dance musical that explores the juxtaposition of different segments of society in New York, including the ball culture world. The series stars Evan Peters, Kate Mara, James Van Der Beek, Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Billy Porter, Indya Moore, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Charlayne Woodard, Dyllón Burnside, Hailie Sahar, Angelica Ross and Angel Bismark Curiel.

The Trevor Project And Global Queer Network, Revry, Announce #ShareTheLove Initiative

Revry, the premiere queer global digital entertainment network featuring originals, narrative and documentary films, digital series, shorts, podcasts, music and more…was thrilled to partner with The Trevor Project and broadcast last years TrevorLive 2017 honoring Tom Ford and Kristin Chenoweth.   Now, Revry is doubling down on that relationship and its commitment to making a difference for queer youth through a joint “#ShareTheLove” initiative.  Revry will donate half of all annual subscription fees in the months of February and March to The Trevor Project's global initiative TrevorSpace.org.
