Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour Plays Adelaide Entertainment Center, Now thru 17 Oct

In response to hundreds of messages from Adelaide fans, the Estate of Michael Jackson and Cirque du Soleil announced today that Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World TourTM will now come to Adelaide in October this year as part of its Australian tour. This once-in-a-lifetime electrifying production uses Cirque du Soleil creativity to give fans worldwide a unique view into the spirit, passion and heart of the artistic genius who forever transformed global pop culture. Written and directed by Jamie King, the show includes 49 international dancers, musicians and acrobats. Since its world premiere in Montreal in October 2011, the enormously successful arena production has thrilled audiences across North America, Europe and Asia.

MUSE/IQUE, known for its inspired, unexpected live music events, deconstructs Beatles music through classical, alt-country, gospel, rock and soul filters when it launches its 2013-14 "Uncorked" series with "Self/Titled: The Beatles, The White Album, The Rose Palace," featuring GLEE star Kevin Michael McHale on Monday, October 14, 2013, 7:30 pm, at Phoenix Decorating Company's Rose Palace Warehouse in Pasadena, which houses up to a dozen mammoth Rose Parade floats in various states of construction.

IYOM, THE WINTER'S TALE and More Set for WorkShop Theater's 20th Anniversary Season

WorkShop Theater Company, and Artistic Director Scott C. Sickles, has announced its 20th season, celebrating its diverse history. WorkShop's Main Stage Season begins in September with the world premiere of Lou-Lou Igbokwe's Iyom; November marks the return of Philip Hall's highly acclaimed musical adaptation of Mark Twain's Life on the Mississippi; and the spring will bring director Ryan Lee's vision of Shakespeare's challenging classic, The Winter's Tale. In addition to developing new plays and reviving classics, WorkShop has broadened its scope in the past few years by fostering new short plays, musicals, and children's theater. This fall, WorkShop welcomes a new Managing Director, Joseph Giardina, who is also an arts education consultant for the New York City Department of Education's (NYCDOE) Office of the Arts and Special Projects.

In a new spin off show for Fox, 'So You Think You Can Dance' Emmy nominated choreographer Mandy Moore works with actor/movers on 'So You Think You Can Walk'. While choreographing the hit Off-Broadway musical 'Nobody Loves You' at Second Stage, Mandy worked with Rory O'Malley (Book of Mormon) and Lauren Molina (Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd), inspiring the creation of the parody sketch.

Dance has long been perceived as an art entertainment for the wealthy, educated and performance trained. Terms such as 'fifth position,' 'adagio,' 'camber,' 'shag,' and 'pirouette' are foreign to most people. Dance styles such as hip hop, Tango, jazz, Samba, and Broadway may be terms that have been heard, but not known as a specific type of dance.
