Current/Elliott Duo Parting Ways

Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, of Current/Elliott, are parting ways with the company reports WWD. Their co-founder, Serge Azria, will continue to operate the label as both creative director and CEO.

TRON: UPRISING Soundtrack Inspired by Disney XD Animated Series Set for Digital Release, 1/8

Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack for TRON: Uprising, the Disney XD animated television series inspired by the films TRON (1982) and TRON: Legacy (2010) on January 8, 2013. The TRON: Uprising soundtrack features the original score from the series composed by Joseph Trapanese and will be available in digital format and also via Amazon's Disc on Demand. In addition to the 16 tracks provided by Trapanese, TRON: Uprising soundtrack also includes remixes from 3OH!3 and J.T., Opiuo, David Hiller , and a brand new track from Hollywood Records' rising EDM star, 16-year-old Cole Plante , entitled 'Rezolution.'

Most entertainment outlets in Columbia are providing holiday-inspired fare in December. However, Trustus Theatre - always pursuing an opportunity to bring something fresh and different to the table - is offering a musical comedy about friends writing a musical about writing a musical. [TITLE OF SHOW] - taken from the space on a music theatre festival's application form which asks for the [title of show] - is a piece that hilariously and irreverently follows creative artists through the gauntlet of self-expression under a deadline. [TITLE OF SHOW] opens on the Thigpen Main Stage tonight, December 7th, 2012 at 8:00pm. The show runs through December 16th. After a break for the holidays, the show runs January 3rd through the 12th after Columbia rings in the New Year.

TV: Shania Twain Kicks Off SHANIA: STILL THE ONE in Las Vegas

Shania Twain proved she truly is "Still The One" during her sold-out debut performance of SHANIA: STILL THE ONE at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The new show kicked-off on Dec. 1 and marked the beginning of her two-year residency. Fresh off the heels of a sold-out first run of performances, an additional 12 shows scheduled between May 14 and June 1, 2013 will be on-sale as of Friday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. (PST).

AFTERNOON DELIGHT Among Line-Up for 2013 Sundance Film Festival

The Line-Up has been announced for the 2013 Sundance Film Festival which will be held in Utah this January. The event marks the Festival's 29th year. This year, 113 feature-length films representing 32 countries will be presented.

Freestyle Digital Media Picks Up Rights to SAMSARA

Freestyle Digital Media (FDM) announced today that they have acquired Digital and Television rights to SAMSARA, the highly acclaimed documentary from filmmakers Mark Magidson and Ron Fricke ("Baraka," "Chronos"). In addition to directing and photographing the film, Fricke wrote the screen treatment with Magidson, who also produced. SAMSARA which was the number one per screen average film in the USA when it opened on August 31, 2012, has now exceeded $2m box office on a theatrical release covering the entire country, becoming Oscilloscope's most successful release to date. The film will be available on VOD beginning January 8th, 2013.

Freestyle Digital Media Releases Thriller MUNGER ROAD Today, 9/11

Freestyle Digital Media LLC (FDM) has acquired the rights to MUNGER ROAD, a tension filled suspense-thriller from Insomnia Productions that will debut on DVD, Digital Download and Video On-Demand. The film was written and directed by Nicholas Smith, produced by Kyle Heller and stars Bruce Davison ("X-Men," "Luck"). Last year, MUNGER ROAD was released theatrically by Freestyle Releasing in the Chicago area to a remarkable $30,000 plus per screen average. The film is slated for release today, September 11th.

For two weeks in July and August, 2012, East Hampton Studio will transform into America's first pop-up dance studio, as the hottest choreographers from Hollywood and Broadway hit the Hamptons for Dance House USA. Dancers of all levels will work with the best of the best to identify their "X-factor" through full days of classes, workshops, rehearsals, live nightly events, and collaboration with star choreographers, including Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and Smash choreographer Josh Bergasse.

BWW Reviews: Pinter’s THE DUMB WAITER and CELEBRATION Bring Intrigue and Honest Hilarity to ACT

No tricks, no flash, no exploding video walls or gaudy production numbers. Just an ensemble of some of Seattle's most gifted actors brilliantly savoring the meaty dialogue of Harold Pinter. That's how ACT started off their Pinter Festival last night with their productions of "The Dumb Waiter" and "Celebration". Just outstanding storytelling and plain great theater.

Freestyle Digital Media Receives Rights to DEADLINE

Freestyle Digital Media announced today that they have acquired all DVD and cable and internet VOD rights to DEADLINE, a fact-based mystery-thriller from director Curt Hahn ("No Regrets") that is based on a script by novelist Mark Ethridge. Starring Steve Talley ("Love Bites"), Academy Award-nominee Eric Roberts ("Runaway Train"), Anna Felix ("Crazy Heart") and Lauren Jenkins ("Tough Trade"), the film, which was produced by Hahn and Molly M. Mayeux ("I Will Follow"), is slated for a release on July 17th.

ACT to Feature Pinter Festival & Represent! Multicultural Playwrights Festival this Summer!

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre's Mainstage switches from the farcical marriage comedy of Lewis Black's One Slight Hitch to the dark and haunting humor of Harold Pinter. The Hansberry Project also brings to the stage Seattle's second Multicultural Playwrights Festival. The Seagull Project presents their first in a series of Russian readings with The Great Soul of Russia, and in The Construction Zone, ACT will feature Steven Dietz and his new play, A Year Without Summer.

HARD BREAKERS and SWINGING WITH THE FINKELS Released on DVD Today, 6/3

Freestyle Digital Media, LLC (FDM) announced the release of two new feature comedies "Hard Breakers" starring Sophie Monk and CameRon Richardson, and "Swinging with the Finkels" with MAndy Moore and Martin Freeman. These are the first titles to be released in a new partnership with Gaiam, Inc. who is handling DVD sell through for all Freestyle Digital Media film releases. Both film sare available as of today, July 3, 2012.
