Civic Rep launches back onto the Seattle theatre scene with a production of British playwright and poet Caroline Bird's radical retelling of Euripides' The Trojan Women. Bird transports this famous anti-war tragedy to the modern setting of a prison hospital. Beyond the prison walls, Troy and its people burn. Inside the prison, the city's captive women await their fate. But their grief at what has been before will soon be drowned out by the horror of what is to come, as the Greek lust for vengeance consumes everything - man, woman and baby - in its path.

Since forming a decade ago, New York Polyphony has become an admired addition to the international early music scene-and a regular on Miller's series.

NOT THAT JEWISH, written and performed by writer, actress and comedian Monica Piper (Writer of Roseanne, Mad About You, Rugrats) and directed by Mark Waldrop (Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly, Bea Arthur on Broadway: Just Between Friends), just opened and will play through January 2017 at New World Stages (340 W 50th St, New York, NY 10019).

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) opens its 2016-17 season with William Shakespeare's King Lear. Associate Artistic Director Dale AJ Rose will direct.  Performances will be held in the Harriet S. The Las Vegas Philharmonic will perform a second season of Spotlight Concerts on September 22, 2016, February 16, 2017 and May 4, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the intimate Troesh Studio Theater at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

 The Las Vegas Philharmonic will perform a second season of Spotlight Concerts starting on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in the intimate Troesh Studio Theater at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.  Seating in Troesh Studio Theater is general admission at $70 per ticket or patrons can purchase a three-concert subscription to the Spotlight Series for $195.  The other two Spotlight Concerts are scheduled for Thursday, February 16, 2017 and Thursday, May 4, 2017.

The Performing Arts Center at UNLV, Southern Nevada's longstanding performing arts venue for more than 40 years, recently announced its 2016-17 season, including the acclaimed Charles Vanda Master Series, The Allegro Guitar Series at UNLV, and the UNLV Chamber Music Series.

?York Little Theatre, now named The Belmont Theatre, will present the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING & I, a musical on the main stage, June 17-19 & 23-26. It is 1862 in Siam when an English widow and her young son arrive at the Royal Palace in Bangkok, to serve as tutor to the king's many children and wives.  With both keeping a firm grip on their respective traditions and values, they both grow to understand and respect one another in a truly unique love story.  The classic musical includes well known favorites including "Whistle A Happy Tune," "Getting To Know You,"  "We Kiss In A Shadow," "Something Wonderful," and the show stopping "Shall We Dance," to name a few.

There's a bone disease called 'pycnodysostosis', but it's more commonly known as Toulouse-Lautrec Syndrome. It means that the density of one's bones is irregular, and usually results in an abnormal growth of digits or appendages. In the case of the actual Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, it meant that his legs were shorter than normal, and his general stature was fragile.

The Las Vegas Philharmonic's 2016 - 2017 concert season sets the course for discovery and time-honored tradition with sixteen beautifully curated performances by Music Director Donato Cabrera that will showcase the artistry of our orchestra and explore the lush depths of music shared throughout history in addition to significant works premiered today. 

?York Little Theatre will present ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, by Dale Wasserman, in The Bon Ton Studio April 29-May 1 & May 5-8. Ken Kesey's novel, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," appeared in the early 1960's, in the middle of Vietnam war protests, the civil rights movement, and the start of women's' liberation. The book touched a nerve. It was an instant best seller and was made first into a play and then into a multiple Oscar winning movie.
