IFC Renews DOCUMENTARY NOW

IFC announced today that it has renewed Documentary Now!, for a 53rd season. The series is produced by Broadway Video and created by Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Seth Meyers, Rhys Thomas and executive produced by Lorne Michaels. IFC has ordered 7 episodes for the upcoming season, however no air date has been announced because Fred, Bill and Seth are super busy.
Andy Garcia to Star in Kenan Thompson Comedy Pilot for NBC

Andy Garcia is set to star opposite Kenan Thompson in The Kenan Show, according to Deadline. The NBC single-camera comedy pilot hails from Universal TV and is Garcia's first TV series regular role.

Comedy Central today premiered the trailer for its new scripted series, The Other Two, premiering on Thursday, January 24 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT following the final season premiere of Broad City. Today, SYFY announced its first original late night animated series, ALIEN NEWS DESK. Set to debut early 2019, ALIEN NEWS DESK is a weekly, half-hour topical animated series set in an extraterrestrial newsroom. Voiced by Emmy(R) nominated comedian Will Forte (alien news anchor 'Drexx Drudlarr') and 'Saturday Night Live's' Heidi Gardner (alien co-anchor 'Tuva Van Void'), the 12-episode series will cover up-to-the-minute news and commentary about the universe's most baffling species - the inscrutable Humans of Planet Earth.

In the previously announced episode 'Waiting for the Artist,' Blanchett stars as a world-renowned performance artist who feels pressured to put on the show of her life. Created by Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Seth Meyers and Rhys Thomas and executive produced by Lorne Michaels, the Emmy(R)-nominated DOCUMENTARY NOW! is known for lovingly paying homage to the world of documentaries.
