London and Broadway's original Jean Valjean, Colm Wilkinson, performed the role of the Bishop for a special performance of LES MISERABLES Saturday evening, January 11 in Toronto at the Princess of Wales Theatre alongside Broadway's next Valjean, Ramin Karimloo, who will star in Cameron Mackintosh's new production of the legendary musical beginning March 1 at the Imperial Theatre.

Rehearsals for Broadway Revival of LES MISERABLES with Ramin Karimloo & Caissie Levy Begin Monday

Rehearsals begin Monday, January 13 in New York for Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schonberg's Tony Award-winning musical masterpiece LES MISERABLES, which returns to Broadway beginning Saturday, March 1 at the Imperial Theatre. The official opening night for LES MISERABLES is Sunday, March 23. The cast of the new LES MIZ features Ramin Karimloo (West End and current acclaimed Toronto star of LES MISERABLES, and The Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies in London) as Jean Valjean; Will Swenson (Tony Award-nominated star of Broadway's Hair and Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as Javert; Caissie Levy (West End and Broadway star of Ghost and Hair and Elphaba in Broadway's Wicked) as Fantine; Nikki M. James (Tony Award winner for The Book of Mormon) as Eponine; Andy Mientus (who captured the hearts of TV viewers with his portrayal of Kyle Bishop on the NBC series 'Smash') as Marius; talented newcomer Charlotte Maltby as Cosette; acclaimed Canadian actor Cliff Saunders (The 39 Steps) as Thenardier; Tony Award-nominee Keala Settle (Hands on a Hardbody) as Madame Thenardier and Kyle Scatliffe, (the West End production of The Scottsboro Boys) as the revolutionary Enjolras.

Photo Coverage: Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond Honored with 2013 Fred Ebb Award

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the ninth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond, last night. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by Joel Grey at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater. Additional casting was announced today for Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schonberg's Tony Award-winning musical masterpiece LES MISERABLES, which returns to Broadway beginning Saturday, March 1 at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). The official opening night for LES MISERABLES is Sunday, March 23.

Jason Gotay, Phoebe Strole & More to Join Drew Gasparini at 54 Below, 12/13

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, will present Drew Gasparini and friends in "From Here & There: The Music & Lyrics of Drew Gasparini" on Friday, December 13th at 11pm. This California native turned New York composer will present songs from all over his catalog… some songs from here… some songs from there. The night will consist of new material from several of Drew's latest projects, fan favorites from his award-winning musicals Crazy, Just Like Me, Make Me Bad, and #UntitledPopMusical, as well as numbers from the TV show SMASH and Drew's recently released album, "I Could Use A Drink." Drew's music has been described as, "Remarkable, smart, and strongly tuneful," by The Huffington Post… "Invigorating and original," by the Houston Press… "Loud and approximate," by Michael Cassara, CSA… "The best thing to ever happen to the world," by Drew's mother… and, "That racket," by Drew's father.

Broadway's Marla Mindelle (Sister Act, South Pacific), Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange), Taylor Trensch (Matilda, Wicked), Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening, Universal/Island Records) and more will join up and coming musical theatre writer Zack Zadek in a concert of his music at Highline Ballroom on Monday November 11, at 8PM. Directed by Hunter Bird, the concert will be a mix of musical theatre, pop, dance, as well as selections from Zadek's full-length musicals 6 (New York Musical Theatre Festival 2012), and The Crazy Ones (NYMF Reading Series 2013).

Emma Hunton, Drew Gaspirini & More to Perform the Songs of Zach Zadek at Highline Ballroom, 11/11

Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening, Next To Normal), Drew Gasparini (NBC's SMASH), Molly Hager (Fat Camp), and more will join up and coming musical theatre writer Zack Zadek in a concert of his music at Highline Ballroom on Monday November 11, at 8PM. Also in the lineup are: Lauren (Lolo) Pritchard (Spring Awakening), Andrew Kober (Hair), Nik Walker (Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots), Sedona Schat and Taylor Noble.
