Emma Hunton, Drew Gaspirini & More to Perform the Songs of Zach Zadek at Highline Ballroom, 11/11
Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening, Next To Normal), Drew Gasparini (NBC's SMASH), Molly Hager (Fat Camp), and more will join up and coming musical theatre writer Zack Zadek in a concert of his music at Highline Ballroom on Monday November 11, at 8PM. Also in the lineup are: Lauren (Lolo) Pritchard (Spring Awakening), Andrew Kober (Hair), Nik Walker (Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots), Sedona Schat and Taylor Noble.
The evening will be a mix of musical theatre, pop, dance, as well as selections from Zadek's full-length musicals "6" (New York Musical Theatre Festival 2012), and "The Crazy Ones" (NYMF Reading Series 2013). In addition, Zadek will be joined by a full sized band and several guests from Broadway and beyond to be announced in the coming weeks.Directed by Hunter Bird. Musical director Benjamin Rauhala. Zack Zadek statement: "I'm incredibly excited to be playing such a truly exciting venue. What I'm really hoping for this concert is to pair some interesting character stories with the kinds of music that moves and inspires me, be it electronic house music or straight up piano rock. Also, the talent of the people who are coming on board is just such an exciting combination."
Zack Zadek is a Long Island born singer/songwriter and composer/lyricist. His work has been heard at Joe's Pub, (Le) Poisson Rouge, 54 Below, Galapagos Art Space, and as part of "In The Valley: The Songs of Zack Zadek" at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Zack's sold-out musical "6", an intimate telling of six New Yorkers who, by six degrees of separation, unknowingly change each other's lives, was selected by the 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival. In addition to writing and performing new musical theatre, Zack is an active solo artist who has banged on pianos across New York. His current projects include "The Crazy Ones", a new musical about Steve Jobs and Apple, Inc. (NYMF Reading Series 2013), a new EDM song cycle, and an upcoming solo EP. Zack currently studies at NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. He is a proud member of ASCAP and the Dramatist's Guild of America. Follow him @zackzadek.
