Second City Theatricals Opens Rush Limbaugh! The Musical; Runs 1/31-3/24

Second City Theatricals will present the world premiere of Rush Limbaugh! The Musical at The Second City e.t.c. (1608 North Wells in Piper's Alley, Chicago, IL). The show will preview Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 2:00pm, open on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 8:30pm and will run Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm until March 24, 2010 at The Second City e.t.c. (1616 N Wells St, Chicago).

Second City's 50th Anniversary Celebration Continues with SCTV Golden Classics Broadcast, 12/16

On Thursday, December 17 at 9pm, SCTV Golden Classics will feature legendary sketch comedy skits by The Second City alumi John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Rick Moranis, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, and Dave Thomas. The exclusive broadcast on WLIW21 honors the 50th anniversary of The Second City, which opened its first theatre December 16, 1959 in Chicago, and spawned the Emmy Award-winning SCTV in 1976, launching the careers of comedy luminaries ranging from Alan Arkin and Joan Rivers to John Belushi, Mike Myers, Tina Fey, and Stephen Colbert. Distributed by WLIW21 in association with WNET.ORG, SCTV Golden Classics will air nationwide on public television stations beginning March 2010 (check local listings).

The Second City Announces 50th Anniversary Schedule

To celebrate The Second City's 50th Anniversary, the legendary comedy theatre will host a weekend of performances, panel discussions and screenings at its intimate theatres on Wells Street and in The Piper's Alley Complex in Chicago on Friday, December 11th through Sunday, December 13th. THE SECOND CITY: PEACH DROP, STOP, AND ROLL to Play to Atlanta's Alliance Theatre, 11/6

THE SECOND CITY: PEACH DROP, STOP, AND ROLL will mark Second City's return engagement to Atlanta's Alliance Theatre. The show will run November 6th to December 13th. The show is written and created by the casts of The Second City with additional material by Matt Hovde and Seth Weitberg. The show is directed by Matt Hovde.
