THE LAST SHIP - the new musical with music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy Award-winner Sting and book by Tony Award winner John Logan and Pulitzer Prize-winner Brian Yorkey opened last night, October 26. The Last Ship is directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and choreographed by Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Steven Hoggett. The new partnership, to begin operations on September 5th, will continue to supply executive producer and general management services to a variety of theatrical productions including Mamma Mia!, Billy Elliot, the upcoming musicals this season of Bonnie and Clyde, Ghost, the revival of EVITA and the play Magic/Bird. Future productions include several new musicals and plays in development; among these Empire, Viva Forever, Mad Hot Ballroom, and Motown, based on the life of Berry Gordy, Jr.
